VHS : Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan
After the disaster that was Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan was a breath of fresh air and complete opposite.
Lots of great characters, action and special effects added up to a great movie.
I cried he first time I saw Spock die and it still gets me a little sad when I watch it today!

VHS : Pretty Maids All in a Row
I was allowed into the theater to see this when I was 14, almost 15, and the lady at the ticket booth said, "Hmmmm....OK." My friend was just over 16, I think, so he might have been underage as well. Anyway, I recommend this movie for anyone who likes 1960's period pieces. Love the music, the sunny innocence mixed with naughty naughtiness, the tongue-in-cheek performances, the high school upskirts, Angie Dickinson. Just another movie that makes you wonder why it has not seen the digital light of day yet.

3.Double Trouble starring: Lewis Arquette, Collin Bernsen, David Carradine, Bob Evan Collins, Troy Donahue

This movie is awesome. John and David Paul are my reason for living! I would be a cop if it were as cool as it is in this movie. Or a criminal. My favorite line, "Politicians are great people, ...everybody should own one." The way it just rolls off his tongue. Just don't watch this movie with someone who doesn't understand the Barbarian Brothers as you will have to beat them unmercifully!

VHS : Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 76: Requiem For Methuselah
From the storyline and props, one can easily see that this episode is one of the last ones in the series. Flint is a man who was somehow born as an immortal on Earth. Growing weary of watching loved ones age and die and forced to move on before people recognized his true condition, he has traveled to Holberg 917-G.
A deadly epidemic of Rigellian fever is sweeping through the crew of the Enterprise and the antidote, a substance called ryetalyn is found on Holberg 917-G. Kirk leads a landing party to the surface ... Read More:

The Good Things
*Excellent action and special effects (especially the opening, which was probably the first really cool use of the shockwave effect that we now see everywhere else).
*Filming style is good.
*Storyline is smashing. Much darker, more dramatic than before. Lots of interesting political intruigue and mystery.
*Reveals a lot in the "Star Trek" universe. You finally get to see more of Klingon culture, and you get to see that they have pink blood, and so on.
*Characters are great; acting ... Read More:

VHS : Star Trek III - The Search for Spock
As good a "The Wrath of Khan was, "The Search for Spock" is just a notch better.
It shows Kirks true love for his best friend and shows he will go to the ends of the universe to save him.
Really enjoyed having Mark Lenard as Sarek in a strong supporting role.
The movies started going downhill from her !

7.Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 5: The Enemy Within starring: William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Grace Lee Whitney, George Takei

VHS : Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 5: The Enemy Within
William Shatner at times could be an outstanding actor and at other times a bit, er, intense. He was best when turning down the melodrama. When he had to be possessed, in lust, or act like a wildman, it wasn't always pretty. In "The Enemy Within," you get the good and bad Kirk, and the good and bad acting.

A transporter accident causes him to split into the "good" Kirk and the "evil" Kirk. But the matter is far more complex than that. The "evil" Kirk is savage but is also the source of willpower and decisiveness. Without him, the ... Read More:

VHS : Star Trek Generations
It may be that I am in the very minority of people if I state that Star Trek Generations is far and away the best of the Next Gen films and one of the best of the overall series. I may be in the minority to talk about its philosophical themes that are all over the place in all the right places. It may be I'm the only person who sees this film as a philosophy piece like Blade Runner. But that's what I see it as. And though this film is definitely not as well-directed or well-made as the aforementioned Ridley Scott classic, the themes and astounding philosophical musings ... Read More:

VHS : Star Trek - The Motion Picture
Timing is everything.

The snarls and delays in getting the screenplay from paper to film made the journey for this picture very difficult; there was this "little" movie made - Star Wars - that revolutionized the Sci-Fi genre and placed a heavy premium on visual effects.

So, what appeared to be a trade-off with a major part of the Star Trek TV series - the dialogue of the actors - was jettisoned for visuals that looked impressive, but looked to be playing catch-up to Darth and his pals.

The Director's Cut shows what should have been and ... Read More:

VHS : Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 62: Is There In Truth No Beauty?
One of the marvelous, unique features of Trek is that it was sometimes able to use a science fiction premise to dramatize some aspect of the human condition like nothing else could. One is reminded of racism illustrated by the half-white-half-black people of "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield." Here the device used illustrates the issues of inner vs. outer beauty in an extraordinary way.

The Enterprise hosts a Medusan ambassador. The aptly-named Medusans are said to have "the most sublime thoughts in the galaxy," but their gaseous appearance is so ugly that the mere sight ... Read More:
