VHS : Nixon
As a filmmaker I appreciate Oliver Stone, his provactive, political, conspiratorial, curious, enigmatic, ominous visions of Americana are the stuff of high entertainment. Right or wrong, his works are wonderful cinema, it doesn't matter if his version is slanted to the left, it is a distinct vision and he is skilled at executing it.
Be that as it may Nixon is no JFK. Though both are named for presidents of the same era, one is about a murder and it's associate conspiracies-presented in staggering ... Read More:

VHS : The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez
This VHS production of The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez is a great film about the tragic story behind the flawed pursuit of a man made worse by cultural and lanuguage barriers. This film reveals a lot about the prevailing attitudes of the time (early 1900s) and how they contributed to an imperfect system of justice.

3.Misery starring: Lauren Bacall, Kathy Bates, Wendy Bowers, Thomas Brunelle, James Caan

VHS : Misery
If ever a movie has made me feel as trapped as its protagonist does, Misery stands right up there. I must admit that I have never read King's novel on which this film was based, but it didn't stop the movie from chilling my bones. It was an effort just to sit through it; it's that intense. James Caan and especially Kathy Bates deliver truly spectacular performances as popular (and, to his grudge, commercialised) writer Paul Sheldon and his psychotic "number one fan" Annie Wilkes. The movie has a justified reputation ... Read More:

VHS : Moll Flanders (2pc) (Mobile Masterpiece Theatre)
I will admit, I saw this movie before I read the book. But what a good movie it was! It's not so much a movie as it is a miniseries as it took a while to watch, but it is worth it, since miniseries are often able to put in more of the book than a movie whose time must be restricted.

The acting, props, costumes, and background were all solid, and I have no complaint. It was especially fun to see Moll stare right into the camera. For me, that added some spice and fun to watch, especially when she looked at you while she ... Read More:

VHS : High Crimes
Just when you think you know what the truth is and who the bad guys really are---there is a twist in the plot. Great thriller that unfolds slowly but gets you hooked. Great acting by Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd and the supporting actors are very good in their roles. For any Marines in the audience, I am sure you will have to "suspend disbelief" in viewing this movie---it is completely fiction and is not an insult to the Marine corps or our fine men and women in the Marines. It is a very satisfying thriller and the ending will ... Read More:

At US$103, this video is a waste of money. At 50cents it would be waste of money. No plot, no script and the worlds worst actor Pete Postlething.

VHS : Dain Curse
This movie is one of the best detective movies ever made. I would rank it with the 1940 production of The Maltese Falcon. Coburn is perfect as private detective Hamilton Nash, and the rest of the cast deliver matchless performances that only the finest actors can. I have waited for a good reproduction of this masterpiece since I first saw it on television in the late 1970's, and I am thrilled to have it on a DVD of my own. Bravo!
