Finally finding an audience on You-tube, there is a reason this is a number one bestseller. There are DVD versions out there, just google search and you can find one. Great heartfelt story.

I bought the whole Granada series and watched several other episodes before this. Of course, everyone is familar with Rathbone's version of this story. While I haven't seen it for many years, I do remember the eerie setting and Basil's tight portryal of Holmes (nevermind Bruce's Watson).
So I had high hopes for this, but I was quite disappointed. Just watch "The Blue Carbuncle" or "The Reheaded League", or even "The Solitary Cyclist" and see what Jeremy Brett can do. Some of the early episodes of this ... Read More:

VHS : The Count of Monte Cristo
So much better than any movie I have seen lately. I had never read the book or seen the movie and I just loved it. It captured my imagination and the acting was so believable. Jim C. was the Count. I want to see it again and again.

This movie is my all time favorite comedy western! I laughed so hard about one seen that I almost made myself ill, but I won't give that away. I would love to own it in DVD.

VHS : Dead of Night (aka "Lighthouse")
The story line in the movie is good, solid. The sets used were very good. The acting was mediocre, even for a slasher film!
But the sound! That was absolutely horrible! It would get very faint and then loud. It kept drifting in and out during the entire movie. When it got loud it got very loud. And when it was faint it was extremely faint.
The disc I got was production line so I expected more from it. The price was good for this hard to find movie.
Had I known about the sound I would have waited to purchase it.

7.Letter to Three Wives starring: Jeanne Crain, Linda Darnell, Ann Sothern, Kirk Douglas, Paul Douglas

VHS : Letter to Three Wives
I purchased this movie for my father who recalled to me that he had tried to find this movie here in Australia. I found it here on Amazon and purchased it for him. I watched this movie with some hesitation as I am not familiar with old black and white movies. This movie from 1949 kept my attention throughout with it's slick photography, direction, and plot. I was impressed with the cast and the acting. I would heartily recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a well scripted and acted movie. The remastering to DVD was excellent even on playback ... One of those good old lost movies. It's good to see Richard Harris (original "Dumbledore") in one of his earlier works in a movie very delightful for its time.

Gripes about product is it is VHS, and after watching any VHS on newer TVs that exist today, you wonder how we were ever satisfied with that technology. Picture and sound is terrible. This is a film that at least deserves a DVD in original theatrical quality given there's many more films that deserve less and do have DVDs.

9.Razor Blade Smile (Unrated Edition) starring: Eileen Daly, Christopher Adamson, Jonathan Coote, Kevin Howarth, David Warbeck
directed by: Jake West
June 20, 2000
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Razor Blade Smile (Unrated Edition)
This film seems to have been inspired by the old British TV series "The Avengers". Lilith Silver looks like Emma Peel and most of the story would have made a good episode for that show. A lot of the British slang is quite amusing and the witticisms are typically British. The film does not take itself seriously enough to be an effective horror movie. It is more of a crime drama that uses its vampire theme for laughs.
