VHS : Iron Jawed Angels (P&S)
Even though the title of this movie may sound a little strange, it is a movie worth seeing. The movie focuses on the efforts and determination of Alice Paul and Lucy Burns and their quest to give women the right to vote. I watched this movie for the first time only a couple weeks before the election in November of this year. By watching this movie before I voted for the next President for the first time, I began to realize that if these women and the others who shared their dream did not speak out, ... Read More:

VHS : Insomnia
Insomnia is already one of the best films of the year. Chris Nolan who brought has the excellent Memento follows up with this brilliant film. Al Pachino is great in the lead role but the scene stealer here is Robin Williams. When you see the film you'll know what I mean. I won't go into the plot all I'm saying is go see it

***** Spoiler Alert *****

Hats off to Mr. Eastwood for getting me to watch a film about women's boxing. I believe that boxing (regardless of gender) is largely barbaric and distasteful.

Add to that, women's boxing is made up in part by ex-prostitutes and ex-strippers, which means that we are heading into degrading territory. Even Frankie deemed female boxing a freak show, rendering him highly reluctant to get involved.

The true heart of this movie is a father-figure daughter ... Read More:

If you're a fan of the tv show, you might be really disappointed in this one if you're looking for more of the same thing. The tone, pacing, and overall feel are very different.

The original movie is much more of a comedy and a bit of a silly one at that. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's much more for a fan of fun 80s movies thatn for the BTVS series. Some of the lines are very cheesy and haven't aged well, but the fun of the movie is still there. It's entertaining and can keep you in good spirits for nearly ... Read More:

I hate this movie. I hate it with every bone in my body.

One scene the guy kills a gardener. A hand lands nearby. The demon walks up to the hand.

I said, jokingly, "Give him a hand!" You know what happens?

The demon picks the thing up and says, "Mind givin' me a hand?"

................kill me now. Please. End this pain that is watching this movie.

VHS : The Gift
This movie was made in Savannah, Ga. If you saw Midnight In The Garden, you are already aware of the 'other' presence there of magic, obeah and other supernatural events. Ribisi is just incredible in this film. I really like this guy enormously. He gives 1000 percent in every performance. Ms. Blanchett shines as the gal with the gift. While the story is very over the top, all of the people depicted are right on. I did get a few phone calls from back home (Savannah) asking me if I had anything to do with this film inasmuch as I am ... Read More:

VHS : Affair of Necklace (Spanish) (Sub)
The setting is the court of France during the reign of Louis XVI, where Marie Antoinette has just refused to accept a massive diamond necklace (which was originally intended for a rival). Jeanne de Valois, who has reason to hate the royals, designs a scheme involving the 2800-carot necklace: Using the ambitious and unsuspecting Cardinal de Rohan as a pawn, Jeanne comes to possess the jewels, but the plan backfires with disastrous results.

The movie is based on a true story, but the facts are twisted and the plot so complicated ... Read More:

Teen Wolf II. Revenge of the Nerds II. Speed II. Dumb and Dumberer. Friday the 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. Rocky V. What do all these movies have in common with The Next Karate Kid? They're all sequels that should have never been made. The first indication that this movie was a bad idea is that Macchio passed on it.

Hilary Swank plays Julie-san, a girl bullied in her high school. She's got anger issues, family issues, and the team of tough-guy jocks called the Alpha Elite does not help the situation at all. Despite the ... Read More:
