VHS : Miniver Story
I watched this movie directly after seeing "Mrs. Miniver" on Turner Classics, and expected something along the same lines, however I was a bit disappointed in the defeatest tone of the movie, and the fact that there was no accounting (unless I missed it somehow) of the absence of the oldest son Vin...also, Judy aged quite fast in this sequel! I was unhappy about the ending, and couldn't understand why we couldn't just have Greer and Walter dance off into the sunset...still, if/when it is available on DVD I will buy it.

VHS : That Hamilton Woman
You know, I was raised a movie buff, all those sick days growing up, I watched movies that were as old as my parents. I remembered this movie because of that last scene when ....well....that and the New Year's Eve scene where Emma and Nelson are saying good-bye. They recount the events of the 1700's, it always makes me cry, but when they played it a few months ago on Turner Classic Movies, I sat and watched it with tears in my eyes. It is a honest to goodness love story and the best part is that its true, that it is real and ... Read More:

F.I.S.T.
Between starring in the ROCKY movies, Sylvester Stallone, played another fighter, Johnny Kovack, in this film, which he also co-wrote. F.I.S.T stands for FEDERATION of INTER-STATE TRUCKKERS, a labor union, formed by Kovak, in the thirties, to overcome, company-stooges and the police. Stallone has to progress, from youth to middle-age, in the course of the story, and he does so effectively. Norman Jewison produced and directed. F.I.S.T concentrates on the corruption that goes, hand in hand, with the blind-struggle, ... Read More:

VHS : The Greatest Show on Earth
Over 1 month ago, I placed and order with amazon for the movie Greatest Show on Earth. It was to be supplied by a secondary vendor. It was to be shipped in time for Christmas, but is still not here. The fault is not with amazon, but with Treasure Hut, who has yet to see fit to answer any emails I have sent. I love the movie. That is why I purchased it.

VHS : Caddyshack
Few comedies age well as the laugh-quotient of the gags tend to experience severe time decay and so it's nice to watch a comedy that has aged relatively well compared with many that I've seen. This can be attributed to the great collection of comedic talents such as Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Bill Murray and Chevy Chase. Dangerfield is very good in his role as the belligerent slob although not all his one-liners score but quite a few managed to make me laugh still. Ted Knight was the best actor of the lot and his expressions of outrage are priceless. ... Read More:
