VHS : Mother Goose Rock N Rhyme
My younger sister was obsessed with this movie when we were growing up, so I've probably seen it at least fifty times. Now, as an adult, it's great to watch it again because I realize how many huge stars were in it playing bit parts. Really fun movie...I wish they would re-release it to DVD!

VHS : Follow the Sun: The Ben Hogan Story
Being a golfer and a fan of the sport for many years, I was very interested in seeing this, which I did when the VHS first came out. Later, I saw it again because of the same reason plus I usually find Glenn Ford's films entertaining.

Well, the story moves well, it didn't bore me, but I did have problems with the accuracy of it and the general theme of the film, telling us that Hogan really was a nice guy who cared lot about what the public thought. From every account I have read, and from ... Read More:

VHS : Superman 1
great, enjoyable movie. beautiful soundtrack. just wish r. donner had done more with the man of steel just like g. reeves. foiling a bank robbery, bending steel bars, jumping out of a window, fight scenes with the bad guys. the scene when the bullets bounced off superman in the tunnel should have been left in the theatrical version. it's the 30th anniversary of the 1978 movie. i'm sure WB will re-release an expanded edition with all the deleted scenes that were never shown. i have VHS copies of the TV version off from ... VHS : Inherit the Wind
This is an excellent adaption of a great American play, although a bit over-acted, especially by Fredric March. There is absolutely nothing subtle about his performance. I also found Gene Kelly's performance to be quite good. I think his character should be found to be just as annoying as March's, just as self-righteous in his own way. The ending of the movie is one of my favorites... with Drummond slapping the 2 books together as 1 when he walks out. That to me is the most important message of the movie, that science and religion ... Read More:

VHS : Belle of the Nineties
What a classy dame! Mae West can deliver one liners second to none, and she does so in this great movie about diamonds, seduction and men. It's a common thread with her, but it never gets old. Of all the movies she's done, it's easy to say that she sings the best in the Belle of the Nineties. If you're going to get one Mae West movie, you better add this one to your collection.

VHS : Golden Earrings
Marlene Dietrich plays the gypsy Lydia, and in her raggedy clothes, black wig, and dark makeup, gives a whole other take on what sexy is all about. (Her gorgeous legs and bare feet get plenty of look-see throughout the picture.) Set near the beginning of WW II in the Black Forest of Germany, Dietrich helps Ray Milland escape the Nazis and obtain a secret poison gas formula. The plot is a bit thin, but both Milland and especially Dietrich put everything into their roles. The golden earrings are a prop used to help disguise Milland, and when he receives ... Read More:

VHS : Happy Birthday Bugs: 50 Looney Years
With the Looney Tunes DVD sets containing a number of TV specials ranging from original cartoons to anniversary celebrations, there is a possibility that this might show up on a future volume. If it does, focus on the quality theatrical cartoons instead of attempting to slog through this non-stop fluff piece that is so outdated, it makes Samurai Pizza Cats seem culturally relevant. In simpler words: don't watch it.

No Looney Tune or Merrie Melodie cartoon, not even any of the Censored Eleven, has dated as badly as this. This is fluff, whole fluff and ... Read More:
