VHS : Stuart Saves His Family
There are about ten laughs in this film by smarmfart Al Franken. Worth seeing once.

But Franken's brilliant creation is Stuart himself.

Full disclosure: I loath Franken's politics and most of his other humour, but this work is a brilliant exception.

Stuart Saves his family is an overlong extension of a SNL skit about "Stuart" the over twelve-stepped psychological casualty of our continuously self-indulgent selves. Rather than overcome his traumas, Stuart nurses ... Read More:

VHS : Multiplicity
Michael Keaton is somewhat of an acquired taste. He is funny sometimes, even outright hysterical (take `Beetlejuice' for instance) but other times he just wares on my patience. `Multiplicity' is one of those films that works in parts, but not entirely, and that is mostly due to Keaton's uneven performance. Well, and the fact that Andie MacDowell didn't have any strong direction to squeeze goodness out of her.

The script is also rather ridiculous, but I think we expect that from a film like ... Read More:

VHS : Clear & Present Danger
This is a completely different film to its predecessor, Patriot Games - not necessarily better or worse, but its tone and direction are much more different, and its use of Ryan certainly is. We see far more of James Earl Jones' character Greer in this movie, and that is a good thing: he is a strong figure, a mentor and a sounding-board for Ryan, and watching his decline and death brings both counterpoint and perspective to the other on-screen events. The other supporting cast don't serve a single-minded purpose ... Read More:

I'm not worried about actors and directors. I want to know something new when I view a movie like this, and this was an eye opener!! It is a must see for all of us boys and girls who were raised in homes of FDR haters. Guess there aren't many left today. Not that it is about FDR, but it will open your eyes about Truman, who he was, and his wisdom which most under-estimated. You know a little old haberdasher.

I am yet to find any of her movies that is boring to me. This was good and simple. Not dragging for hours or any of that stuff. Rent or buy it

6.Robert Kennedy & His Times starring: Brad Davis, Veronica Cartwright, Cliff De Young, Ned Beatty, Beatrice Straight
directed by: Marvin J. Chomsky
May 30, 1995

VHS : Robert Kennedy & His Times
Brad Davis gives an uncannily believable and realistic performance as Robert Kennedy in this sentimental but mostly accurate film that does a great deal to capture both RFK and the spirit and political climate of the 1960's. A great film for anyone who needs a flavor for the man, or the times in which he lived.

G.D. Spradlin puts in a strong performance as Lyndon Johnson, whom the Kennedys viewed as an illegitmate usurper in the wake of JFK's assassination -- the tension between the two camps is faithfully recreated. ... Read More:

I think the movie is only truly enjoyable as a demented version of I Love Lucy... but that's me.

This is a good movie! When I saw the couple held hostage by the convicts I had the urge to change into a superheroine. Even Kim Possible can put those guys in handcuffs, and take them to jail.Rufus can, bite their nose,so can Ron,Kim's too much of a lady.

9.Looking for Richard starring: Penelope Allen, Vincent Angell, Madison Arnold, Alec Baldwin, Larry Bryggman

VHS : Looking for Richard
I really enjoyed this film because it makes accessible one of the greatest written English stories to another generation on whom otherwise it would be lost. The Bard's play is a story written after the fact during the victorious Tudor era. Hence the creation of a dark hearted villain and his manipulative lust for power. Richard really was a brave king who died in battle at the head of his troops at Bosworth in 1485, the victorious Henry Tudor's family thus having the opportunity to enjoy Shakespeares re-write of history as they clung to power. ... VHS : Candy Mountain
"Candy Mountain" is a fine film by the great Robert Frank
that combines a minor coming of age theme with a road trip in search
of the elusive and great hermit builder of the world's best electric
guitars. This mythic figure, one Elmore Silk, has moved to rural Cape
Breton and disappeared with his fame and guitars, leaving nothing
behind him. Kevin O'Connor plays the innocent and affectless loser
who takes to the road from NYC, moving steadily north pursuing Elmore
Silk and hoping to return to NYC with one of the lengendary guitars.
