| We very much enjoyed this movie. Gregory Peck is a strong actor in this movie, as he was in his other movies. It follows the family business via the one adult child in the family actively involved. Highly recommend. |

| A must-see for those who did not grow up during the Debbie Reynolds' era. The music is melodious and the movie has a message. Great story, has everything, drama, comedy, unrequieted love, choices. Bittersweet ending for the viewer, joyful ending for the nun who asked the Lord for guidance, then let Him lead the way! |

| Ralph Bellamy and (to a lesser degree) Greer Garson won plaudits for the amazing way they sunk themselves into their roles as FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt; and Hume Cronyn is also very good, but for sheer professionalism acting honors go to Jean Hagen for her no-nonsense take as FDR's private secretary and aide-du-chambre Missy Le Hand. | I like Flynn, Garson, and even Galsworthy as much as anyone, but what were they thinking when they cast and wrote this movie? First of all we are to believe that Greer Garson is going to leave Errol Flynn for Robert Young? Who would prefer Marcus Welby to Captain Blood? Of course, we all know she is going to end up with Walter Pidgeon, anyway, but what woman in her right mind would choose Robert Young over Errol Flynn?

| Having read the book (one of my favorites), I just can't stomach this film. What really turned me off was the depiction of Lady Catherine. In the book, that character is never reconciled to the marriage of Darcy and Elizabeth. And where did they get the idea for the archery scene? Certainly not from the book. If you haven't read the book, you might find it entertaining; but for anyone who loves the book, this film just doesn't do it justice.

| I watched this movie directly after seeing "Mrs. Miniver" on Turner Classics, and expected something along the same lines, however I was a bit disappointed in the defeatest tone of the movie, and the fact that there was no accounting (unless I missed it somehow) of the absence of the oldest son Vin...also, Judy aged quite fast in this sequel! I was unhappy about the ending, and couldn't understand why we couldn't just have Greer and Walter dance off into the sunset...still, if/when it is available on DVD I will buy it. |
