VHS : Stone Fox
I've seen this movie at least a half dozen times and love it every time. I never read the book, so I can't make a comparison but in the movie, I love the evolvution of the character of Willie throughout the story.

Besides being a heartwarming animal flick, it is a wonderful story about community.

VHS : 500 Nations
This documentary is so fantastic, I hardly knew that it was one. The photography is brilliant, and it is a well written factual film. It makes you feel what the Indians mush have felt at the injustices they suffered. 500 NationsKevin Costner did a fantastic job, as did the rest of the crew. I actually felt like I was on the Trail of TearsThe Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy, and at Wounded KneeBury My Heart at Wounded Knee. VHS : Song of Hiawatha
This movie is based on the poem, The Song of Hiawatha. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It gives you a sense of Native American culture and spirituality which is more believable since the Native Americans in the movie are portrayed by real Native American actors. And what an amazing cast of actors.

VHS : Pocahontas the Legend
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is so romantic! It's an idealized version of the Pocahontas story. (Hence, the title "the Legend) It's the type of movie us women swoon over. Miles O'Keefe is incredibly sexy and charming as John Smith. Seeing him scantily clad is nearly reason enough to buy this. Sandrine Holt is a youthful, energetic Pocahontas, both innocent and beautiful. She is different from her tribe and her fascination with John Smith is understandable. Great film!

9.Legends of the Fall starring: Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, Julia Ormond, Henry Thomas

VHS : Legends of the Fall
It is hard to finish this film since it is so predictable, overly dramatic, and devoid of a sensible message. The four leading actors are good as their other films will bear witness to, however Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, and Julia Ormond can't escape from a idiotic plot and overly dramatic unrealistic script.

Repeatedly in the film we see people going away while those left behind huddle together with tears in their eyes while overly dramatic music tells the viewer that something emotional is happening, ... Read More:

VHS : Big Bear
This movie is the only one I've come across so far that is filmed
entirely from the Indians' point of view.

The fact that the Natives speak English and the Whites gobbledygook
makes it possible for the viewer to relate to them much better than in
movies where they speak native languages. Brilliant idea!

I liked that the Indians were using "White" tools and clothes. There are many movies depicting the mid- to late 1800s in which whole tribes are still clad entirely in buckskin, which is not realistic ... Read More:
