Obviously this is an excellent epic! The DVD quality was average, the first DVD was not quite crisp in reception as you would expect in an average DVD. Perhaps this may have been due to VHS to DVD conversion. I was expecting a digitally remastered copy which this wasn't. Overall the DVD set was excellent value!

VHS : Mutiny on the Bounty (1962)
To call this re-telling of the 1935 cinematic classic a failure would be overly generous. It is a fiasco. In fact, it may be the worst big-budget movie ever made.
The antics that of Marlon Brando, who played Fletcher Christian, during filming have become legendary. He was often too drunk and spaced out on drugs to even read his lines from cards held up in front of him; he gained so much weight that he had to be filmed from different angles; etc. However, this movie would have a disaster even ... It is an enormous pity that this fine movie is not more widely known as I feel it would have a wide appeal especially to the more sensitive and discerning younger audience and their family group
It is set in the West Country of England and was made in 1969 .It stars Mark Lester who starred so memorably in Oliver a year or so previously .He plays Philip Ransome a timid ,quiet and emotionally withdrawn boy who is the victim of parental neglect .Not an uncaring ,physically cruel neglect but the neglect of parents ... First things first: It should be noted that this film is clearly identified at the top of the Amazon listing as the version starring Alastair Sim and George Cole. It should be further noted that eight of the nine following reviews refer to an unmemorable potboiler called "The Green Man," a tepid horror flick that featured Albert Finney, made many years later.

The one review that actually relates to the film at hand is the fine piece by Mr. DeRiemer. I find myself in agreement with Mr. DeRiemer in all things ... Read More:

VHS : Agatha Christie's 'Murder, She Said'
Margaret Rutherford was a scene-stealing, eccentric force of nature in all her movies, and I suspect in her stage roles as well. She had a shape like a sack of produce, a double chin that trembled with a life of its own, little eyes that could widen in shock or squint with suspicion and, when her characters were aroused, a forceful stride that took all before it. Her personality was simply unique. The only other actor I can think of who matched her in eccentricity, potential ham and acting skill was Alastair Sim, another memorable ... Read More:

Perfect! This is a good movie, full of different twists and angles, and just visually good.

VHS : Shaka Zulu
Henry Cele plays the South African Zulu King, "Shaka Zulu." Shaka - meaning in Zulu, "the disease of the beetle," was rejected by his Father, Prince of a small Zulu village, and his Mother, Nandie, put through humiliating public displays of disdain by Shaka's Father. That rejection made Shaka into a young man who would be King with a hardened heart. Though he unified all Zulu people, he became a tyrannical leader who ruled with absolute power and authority. This is a true story of a Warrior King of South Africa who trusted very few people and felt ... Read More:

When I first watched this movie, I was a little kid. It took me time to understand the movie but it made a big impression in my heart. I watched it again when I grew 18+ and it actually added another layer of respect for the writer of this film. "Sometimes wounds don't heal and one only need a miracle to heal them. Through this movie it is so clearly proven that one mustn't look for miracles or for answers, one must just look wide open that little wonders around can coach one, through their mere innocence. I have always admired Don Johnson's work and Melanie Griffith's ... Read More:
