VHS : The Phantom of the Opera
Gerard Butler's singing made me cringe. Actually, he didn't sing as much as shout in a role that demands an excellent tenor. It killed a movie for me that otherwise was very good. You can do Professor Harold Hill with a non-singer but not the Phantom. Patrick Wilson did a fine job as Raoul. Emma Rossum had youth and innocence applicable to the role, and her singing is passable but immature, not surprising given that she was 18 when she made it. That Webber picked her personally shocks me since ... Read More:

VHS : Mrs Brown (1997)
Prince Albert is dead and Queen Victoria (Dench) is inconsolable). The servants don't know what to do. No one can get her out of her mourning.

Because her husband was so fond of him, Victoria sends for John Brown (Billy Connolly), a Scotsman who was one of her husband's attendants. Being a stubborn Scot, he doesn't take 'no' for an answer and waits out in the courtyard until Her Majesty finally decides to go out on a pony ride. Gradually, they develop a friendship--or is it more? That's ... Read More:

VHS : Dracula 2000
The film starts with a sailing ship "Demeter" in a storm in the late 19th century. Only one leaves footprints in the sand. Next we are in modern London. Van Helsing inspects an antique crossbow; its for his personal collection. The Carfax store is attacked by robbers who open the vault. The new technology falls to new tricks. Is it an inside job? Will something go wrong? Van Helsing does not want the police to investigate; he has his secrets. The robbers find what was hidden in that casket, and live to regret ... Read More:

VHS : Timeline
Paul Walker is laughably horrific in his lead performance, but the presence of the ever charismatic Gerard Butler and Billy Connoly save the film from disaster. Kate's character is played very poorly by a good actress, a fact which disappoints on several levels. Of course the book is far better than the film, but for those of us who can't completely grasp all the scientific concepts alluded to in the novel, the movie serves the purpose of giving you the bare basics. The fact that the movie disregards the common ... Read More:

VHS : Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
If you saw these as a kid, then you must get this set. Sure it's 80s cheese but that's the point. Buck was a stud and Wilma a fox. She still is even when I see the shows now! My kids, especially the 8 yr old love them too. The four year old watches them some too but his mind wanders a bit!

6.The Cherry Orchard starring: Charlotte Rampling, Alan Bates, Katrin Cartlidge, Owen Teale, Tushka Bergen
directed by: Mihalis Kakogiannis

VHS : The Cherry Orchard
Alan Bates and Charlotte Rampling are wonderful actors, and Chekhov is a great writer and The Cherry Orchard is one of his best plays, but this is a BAD movie. I have seen one very good theater production of The Cherry Orchard in English, so it can be done. This movie, though, is not it. If you love Chekhov, don't see it. If you don't know Chekhov, don't see it.

VHS : Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life
I'm a fan of most Angelina Jolie films, but her series of Lara Croft Tomb Raider films are great. There is so much action & adventure that these films don't leave you bored. The actors that work with her are a good group and transform into a great cast of characters. We have made these movies among our top picks to take on vacations/trips with our portable DVD player.

The only thing that I have to said is that the DVD is in good condition and the delivery was fast.

VHS : Tale of the Mummy
I feel cheated. This movie comes up in credited roles for Gerard Butler. Well, you barely see him! He pops his head into a tent, goes into the tomb, and is dead within 2 minutes. So, if you're looking for another movie to drool over Mr. sexy Irish accent, forget this one. And he dies for nothing, trust me.

But, that wasn't my entire reason for purchasing this movie. I also enjoy all things Egyptian - tombs, mummies, curses, etc. But if you want to see a well-done movie, watch the one with Brenden Frasier! ... Read More:
