VHS : Downhill Racer
Besides having some really good skiing scenes, there's a beautiful young Robert Redford. That's always worth a second, third and fourth look for we ladies.

directed by: George Roy Hill

I don't like abridged novels and films that are chopped to pieces are in the same category. This shortened version lacks the depth of the original full version film. The full version film should be considered an all time classic.

everything about this movie is touching and appealing with a real authentic feel. I love the way the characters interact without lots of words - just very good acting.

In a recent interview on the "Director's" series on TV, Lawrence
Kasdan noted that Kevin Costner was already well into production on
this "series", when he asked Kasdan to come on as Director. Costner
was preparing a mini-series for HBO of "Earp", and, when that fell
through he needed help in reshaping it as a movie. Kasdan did what
he could, but it was too late to do very much in the way of cutting
the series down. Other: I love this film, and I love the fact that

VHS : Antz (Clam)
It's ironic, but 'Antz' may be remembered as the last great Woody Allen comedy. Like Robin Williams in 'Alladin', Z's dialog is so quintessentially Woody Allen that it's hard to believe he didn't write or ad-lib some of it. It's also a damn sight funnier than anything Woody has made himself since I can't remember when, or anything Dreamworks made, up til 'Over the Hedge'.

Some of Z's lines to the ant psychiatrist in the opening scene alone are priceless. The world might be slightly tired of Allen ... Read More:

VHS : Bonnie & Clyde
I bought this when I was collecting Gene Wilder movies. Turns out, it was his film debut. I hadn't seen this before, but I do remember all the controversy around it when it first came out. Funny, it seems so tame now.

Warren Beatty is Clyde Barrow; Faye Dunaway is Bonnie Parker. They rob banks during the depression, and they're joined by Clyde's brother Buck (Gene Hackman), Buck's wife Blanche (Estelle Parsons), and a young gas station attendant (Michael J. Pollard) they recruit as a driver.

great, enjoyable movie. beautiful soundtrack. just wish r. donner had done more with the man of steel just like g. reeves. foiling a bank robbery, bending steel bars, jumping out of a window, fight scenes with the bad guys. the scene when the bullets bounced off superman in the tunnel should have been left in the theatrical version. it's the 30th anniversary of the 1978 movie. i'm sure WB will re-release an expanded edition with all the deleted scenes that were never shown. i have VHS copies of the TV version off ... Nice reproduction. It was originally filmed in great quality. Not real sure if the Blue-ray version is that much better. I viewed it on a 720p 42" LCD. But the price made it worth it.
