| The Stand is impressive in many ways possible! I know the movie is 6 hours in length put it pulled me in after the first episode. It had a great apocalyptic opening where it can possibly happen in real life with the virus and all. The second half jumps into this supernatural realm where people dare not go and I find that fascinating. I got this movie from a 5 movie collection by Artisan (also had Cujo, Golden Years, The Langoliers, and Thinner) and I received the 2-disc version which is good but ... Read More: |

| This movie is just superb. The story is great, acting is great, and the historical accuracy is perfect. I loved the attention to detail that went into this movie. Definitely a must see even if you're not a space or NASA buff. |

| I watch this film every Christmas Season.Odd choice? Well, if you consider that the Season is about "peace,good will to all" then yes.A MIDNIGHT CLEAR is a look at the two small platoons of beleagured soldiers from America and Germany (who make it quite clear that they are not Nazis, and the F%$# Hitler!) who meet quite unexpectedly in the Ardennes Woods in December 1944 in the final year of WW2.The point of the film is to show that War is not all that some glorify it to be.This is a "different" approach ... | Although not for everybody, this film gives us insight into the struggles of Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob the founders of AA. I think the acting was excellent. The characters were portrayed wonderfully by James Woods and James Garner. I learned a lot from this film and would recommend it to anybody who is involved in a 12 step program or works with recovery. |

| Two fine actors when they were still young and HUNGRY. If you like your acting brimming with absolute manic passion and pathos, then this is your new favorite. I first viewed this on a home made tape that my best friend's older sister had made from a PBS airing in 1983. She suggested that we watch it and that is how two 13 year old girls became utterly obsessed with the fantastically perverse story of two brothers locked in a battle of wills over the writing of a screenplay. | I may have to edit the opening scene some for my high school audience, but they will certainly be watching this movie. It was wonderfully made. I loved the mix of original pictures and movies intertwined with the story plot. I would highly recommend this for any Alabama history buff or for Gary Sinise fan. My mom even sat and watched this with me. |

| I'm not worried about actors and directors. I want to know something new when I view a movie like this, and this was an eye opener!! It is a must see for all of us boys and girls who were raised in homes of FDR haters. Guess there aren't many left today. Not that it is about FDR, but it will open your eyes about Truman, who he was, and his wisdom which most under-estimated. You know a little old haberdasher. |

| Action movies are only as good as their villains. Heroics require really nasty bad guys.
Gene Hackman skillfully portrays an antagonist so mean you know he'd kill his own son. Sharon Stone, for the most part, credibly plays the protagonist, but her motivation for revenge seems filched from Harmonica in Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West. The remaining cast of bad guys are cartoonish and the plot stretches credulity beyond the limits, but fine acting and a unique premise work to make this an engaging film. Read More: |
