| This movie has a following, but as a Gary Cooper fan I don't think it's one of his best though good. I also have noticed the very high prices asked. In my experience on Amazon,if you don't purchase those very high priced ones they will come down. Cannery Row is an example. Not long ago I purchased a copy in poor shape for $25.71, now you can get a good one for around $16.00. When this gets down to a reasonable amount ,I will consider purchasing a copy. Maybe with luck it will be shown on TCM. |

| This is without a doubt one of the top five movies of all time. The acting is superb and the movie keeps you interested through out. Gary Cooper is brilliant, but the actress who plays Mother York, Margaret Wycherly, steals the show. I have seen this movie several times in my lifetime and I become deeply engrossed everytime I watch it. This is one of the best bargains ($10.99) you will ever find for a DVD. | This is a great movie. That being said, the events it is alleged to portray are only a small part of THIS film. There's a story being told by Mr. Sayles about the conditions in which the miners and their families lived, what their prospects for improvement were, the efforts to unionize the coal fields, and the efforts to thwart the unionization of the same, but beware that you understand that Mr. Sayles was telling a story that only refers to what happened in Matewan and Bloody Mingo in 1920-1921. | A film that hits just about every human emotion in the repertoire and
does so surprisingly well, although there is some overeagerness amongst the callow youth. The biggest surprise of all, however, is just how enchanting Clara Bow is as the very sexy girl next door. | This is an action-filled movie that gains momentum when the three brothers leave their family and join the French Foreign Legion together in a wave of disgust over their father's weaknesses. The brotherly affection and loyalty is the main theme of the story, and it is touching and heartrending without being overly sentimental. Cooper, Milland, Hayward and Donleavy are brilliant. It was, is, and always will be a great film about true nobility of the heart as opposed to nobility of the blood. |

| I have always loved Gary Cooper and this is my favorite movie of all he made. It is heart warming and a joy to watch over and over. I ordered it for my mom's 88th birthday and she loves it now too. Thanks for having it. |

| How many editions are there going to be? They have special editions, ultimate, anniversary, etc. Instead of coming out with the same movie over and over again, how about putting some more classics out there. The African Queen, Cavalcade, Samson and Delilah and The Uninvited, to name just 4, still aren't on DVD yet! |

| Technically, this is one of the worst movies ever made. The acting is stilted, the music is predictable, and the set designs are pedantic. Gary Cooper hated his interpretation of the courtroom scene. Ayn fought tooth and nail with the studio heads to have it filmed exactly as she wrote it. Unfortunately she won.
