VHS : To Sir, with Love
I find it frustrating with the economy being so bad to pay $74.00 to $100.00 dollars for a dvd especially a popular classic like this. This movie is amazing and one of my favorites. I higly recommend this movie. as for columbia dvd going out of print fast is nerve wrecking because u get greedy creeps who yank up the price like gas.anyhow hopefully columbia will re-issue this,it is a popular and cherished classic....

The first time I saw this one, I thought Witherspoon's character was a little too unlikable for the lead in a romantic comedy, however, after watching the movie more than once I don't feel as much that way. This is a nice movie that still has a few surprises even though you kind of get the feeling you know where things are going. The one thing this movie is lacking that usually shows up in most romantic comedies is a seriously dumb moment in which the characters look goofy and completely unbelievable. ... Read More:

This is the same edition that came out in 2004; it does not contain any new features. I looked on Criterion's website, and apparently the only thing "new" about this edition is the lower retail price. Still a great movie, so if you don't own it yet, now you can get it for less money. Very cool feature-length making-of documentary included.

5.Henry & June starring: Fred Ward, Uma Thurman, Maria de Medeiros, Richard E. Grant, Kevin Spacey

Erotic, shocking and dramatic would be the three words to describe this film. Maria de Medeiros is perfect as the young writter and so was Fred Ward in the role of 'Henry', excellent chemistry between both the fine artists. Uma's appearence may have been brief but she does deliver a sattisfying performence, beautifull settings, locations of Paris. Definately worth a watch.

A film that was clearly inspired by Deliverance, but that quite easily merits viewing in its own right. If you replace adventurers with National Guardsmen you do have almost the same film. However don't let that put you off because this is very well done and probably has more of a brooding sense of menace to it than Deliverance does. The cast are are all good and director Walter Hill perhaps peaked with this film.

The story is slight, but effective, some National Guardsmen upset the locals whilst out on an ... Read More:

This thriller is taut and suspensful, almost electric with intensity, and with all of its star players practically at the top of their form. Here is "poor hard-luck Harry" Kenyon whose wife has disapeared and apparently the only policeman (Lt. Rudimeyer) in town available to investigate it (the rest all busy marching in the parade) would rather be left alone eating his kosher corned beef sandwich from a deli on west 87th street, New York.

But then comes this woman (with a little help from "Fr. Maklin") who claims ... Read More:

OMG, this movie is beyond belief and funnier than life itself. Leslie Nielson really perfected the role as Frank Drebin. I didn't care for the sequences that were about Frank's wife, Jane. However, Frank himself was unbelievable, especially at the academy awards, where he made a giant spectacle of himself. I really laughed when he ran off stage, saw tanya, and when she tried to seduce him, you should've seen the look on his face when he saw that she had a......well I can't say. You'd have to see for yourself. It was hilarious. This ... Read More:

I really enjoy fantasy-sci-fi movies. This was a fun movie with a good twist at the end. Too bad they did not make more in the line.
