| And enjoyable film about a violent era. I first saw Ivanhoe as a teenager - not long after having read the book as a mandatory assignment in English class. The passage of more than five decades has not changed my opinion of Ivanhoe. The film is a well made classic. Anyone who reads the book feels that Ivanhoe should have squired and loved faithful, selfless Rebecca. The same holds true for the film. | Firstly, I have to say that this video is not of the best quality, which is a pity, because 'Last Days of Dolwyn', aside from being a charming little film in its own right, has the distinction of showing us a very young, very raw and very Welsh Richard Burton taking his first tentative steps onto the big screen.

| I'd like to add my voice to that of the others who are hoping for a widescreen DVD release of this excellent film. It was available that way some years ago on laserdisc and it looked great. Heston, Cooper and Harris work extremely well together; the model work is better than average for its time; the tank shots feature some of the most convincing water/storm effects ever put on film. The poet's masterwork, a long poem on war, won the prestigious Eisteddfod prize, the Bard's Chair, but the poet was dead, and the chair was delivered in a solemn procession to his grieving family. It's interesting to see a movie in Welsh with English subtitles. Beautifully filmed, convincing characters, a moving story. |

| Once more the irreverent vision of Georges Bernard Shaw, carves in relief with this story about a rich girl who decides to join the Salvation Army. | I also first saw the 'Deadly Game' back in 1982 or 1982 when it was on HBO.
My father was actually watching it, and He mimicked a line "Gustaf knows, Gustaf knows everything". I have had that line in my head ever since and I have been looking to find this video for quite a long time now. My father has passed a few years back, and this will bring back fond memories.
