VHS : Soldier Boyz
A bunch of prisoners is recruited in order to rescue a kidnapped woman in Vietnam. So the master in command (Michael Dudikoff) will be assigned to make this epic attempt to save her life and bring her back safe and alive to his country.

Plenty of action and some interesting issues for the thought. Well edited and a secure direction.

zero stars.

As a standalone B-movie, it's very mediocre, but watchable. Low expectations are richly rewarded here.

If you read Wambaugh's book, you will loathe the movie because it betrays your hopes and expectations so badly. No wonder Wambaugh wanted to have his name removed from the credits. The movie tears all the flesh away from his excellent book and keeps just a few bones.

If you have not read the book, but "kinda" liked the movie, read the book. You are in ... Read More:

A great Eastwood western. Humorous and the long range rifle shots are great! Great cast!

I really hope that this movie is put into dvd form soon. I think this was Dennis Quaid's first movie or was it Caveman? Anyway he is really talented and I always liked Kristy McNichol since the show "Family", which also starred James Broderick (Matthew's father). She has the charm of a little waif and who could forget Mark Hamil from Star Wars fame. Please bring this movie out soon.

5.Buddy Holly Story starring: Gary Busey, Don Stroud, Charles Martin Smith, Conrad Janis, William Jordan

VHS : Buddy Holly Story
Despite that a lot of factual information was omitted from this portrait of Buddy Holly, this movie is a compelling, insightful portrait of the mesmerizing character of Buddy Holly himself. Sure, there are glaring omissions concerning the real Crickets and Norm Petty, the 'manager' that helped Buddy get his start--nevertheless, the portrait Gary Busey paints of Buddy is a fascinating, driving and complex picture of an immensely talented, driven, and totally amazing young man who had an unerring faith in his own ... VHS : The King of the Kickboxers
This is one of those "so bad they are good" movies. Not quite as good as the classic "No Retreat No Surrender" (although the style of the movie is very similar), its still good enough to be enjoyed.

Loren Avedon I must say is very unique in all his martial arts films. I can never decide if I really enjoy his presence or despise it. His acting is rather lousy, but to the point its almost fun. He tries to be funny, and it sometimes ends up being so just for trying. As for fighitng, he actually is very athletic ... Read More:

VHS : The Haunted Sea
As a Krista Allen fan, The Haunted Sea certainly belongs in my bookcase. She shoulders the lead, and without ruining the film for anyone, Ms Allen does as well as the script and director permit. The creature effects reminded me of my days at the matinees during the '50s. Historical accuracy goes out the window, so just kick back with your finger on the rewind button for the Krista Allen scenes.:)

8.Criminal Hearts starring: Kevin Dillon, Amy Locane, M. Emmet Walsh, Michael McDonald, Don Stroud

VHS : Coogan's Bluff
The first of many collaborations between Clint Eastwood and Don Siegel, this, Eastwood's second film after the Dollars trilogy, has him as an Arizona Deputy Sheriff sent to NYC to bring back a wanted criminal. The fish out of water scenario as Coogan (dressed in stetson and cowboy boots) confronts the pecularities of the Big Apple. Susan Clark as the romantic interest, Lee J. Cobb as Lt McElroy, Don Stroud as Ringerman (the wanted criminal), Tisha Sterling (daughter of Robert Sterling) as his drugged out girlfriend. Look out for David ... Read More:
