| Vincent Price did not always do horror movies, but he was always a good actor and this film proves it. Price actually does not play the heavy in this film, that role falls to George Sanders who excels in a role where he deals out treachery. Price, Sanders and Margeret Lindsay all give outstanding performances. This may not be Vincent Price's best film, but it certainly ranks up there as one of his best performances. | Yes, it is goofy. Yes it is made by the same guy who made the pseudo-Conan THE SWORD AND THE SORCERER. Still, it's entertaining. Actually, I think it is actually better than the original (how did Wes Craven get hooked into that one?). True, you do have the two obnxious kids and Swamp Thing whacking away on creatures with big rubbery heads. | While the premise held promise, this movie just didn't hang together very well. Lionel Jeffries's part was too thin for him to get his teeth in the way he did in Two Way Stretch. Peter Sellers seemed half hearted at times in this one as well. The business where the gang suspects that there is a mole in the organization goes nowhere. Nanette Newman's part was too thin as well especially since she was the mole. It has a lot of fine bits and funny gags, but too many very fine actors in this movie looked like they had wandered into the wrong movie by mistake. ... Read More: |
