| I think its easily the best movie about the American Revolution. The A&E videos of TV pressentations of "The Crossing" and "Benedict Arnold" are also very good. While how good it is is a matter of opinion, anyone who thinks that Gibson's silly movie is better doesn't know much about American history. This movie has the feeling of the 1770s and the criticism of Pacino's and Kinsky's accents is amusing. | For me one of the most engaging moments in the film is when Gilbert, played by Broadbent, encounters Japanese Kendo fighting and especially Japanese theater. This is set up as a prelude to suggesting that an exhibition of Japanese culture Gilbert attends starts him off thinking up the Mikado. | I had never heard of this movie but saw a program on Court TV about the real story of Andre Stander. I then found out that Thomas Jane had made a movie about it and thought I would check it out. This was a very good movie. I enjoyed it very much. Thomas Jane was excellent as was the rest of the cast. It is a very interesting story that is made even more interesting because it is true. It has political insight into the South African culture and also has a lot of action.

| Okay, so my title is taken from a movie that has no relation whatsoever to this British gem (`Paris When is Sizzles') but it was that movie that really explains well why this movie is so amazing. In `Paris When is Sizzles', Hepburn and Holden are constantly talking about the importance of the switch in filmmaking, that is a plot twist that catches the audience off guard and captures the attention. | As an historical document, 'Pandaemonium' is risible, on a par with Ken Russell's 'Lizstomania'. As a movie, it is absolutely splendid. It's clever (and wonderfully silly), it looks gorgeous, the performances are fine - especially Linus Roache as Coleridge. You have to think of Russell's outré composer biopics to get the measure of this movie (and of course his Byron-Shelley extravaganza 'Gothic') - along with screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce's recent adaptation of 'Tristram Shandy'.

| Lionheart was a bit of a disappointment, considering the historical theme of the movie and the presence of Gabriel Byrne among others, though by no means is it a terrible movie.
The story unfolds as the Third Crusade a.k.a. the Kings' Crusade (1189-1192), is about to head to the Holy Land for a showdown with Saladin's forces.
