| Being a golfer and a fan of the sport for many years, I was very interested in seeing this, which I did when the VHS first came out. Later, I saw it again because of the same reason plus I usually find Glenn Ford's films entertaining.

| This movie I consider among my favorites. It is a true story of a doctor
who ended up on Java and saved many wounded men who were rejected entrance into a ship leaving for safety because they could not get up and walk. It is an amazing story and I am hoping someone will get it transfered to DVD before it is beyond saving! >>>>>Sincerely, Joan |

| Hedy Lamarr at her BEST. After her production role of the fascinating and morally complex STRANGE WOMAN (see my separate 5 star review for that), Hedy was awarded this great murder mystery, based on a true story, DISHONORED LADY.
I saw this on a very poor VHS transfer (not purchased through Amazon). The script is wonderful - a bit melodramatic, the casting is great, but the post production aspects, especially the music are a real disappointment because Hedy shines in this film with HER FINEST ACTING WORK ON FILM. ... | Sure, The Leopard Man is a cheap B movie, fodder for all those double bills during the Forties, but I like it a lot. It only runs 66 minutes and it packs a lot of craftsmanship into that time. What seems unusual to me is that the film, made to be filled with dread and to be a little scary, is also filled with sadness of a sort. This doesn't change its B movie status, but for me it gives the movie more depth than I expected.

| Marie McDonald is criticized. True I haven't seen her performance in Living in a Big Way which most people call horrid. But in this she's pretty good. Dennis O'Keefe plays a man whose been summoned to court to bring forth a garter he bought back a couple of years ago. Only he gave it to old girlfriend Marie McDonald and they spend the whole movie trying to hide this secret from others. The joke died down by the last twenty minutes.
