| I give this 5 stars not just for being a masterpiece of a story but also as a wonderful trip to Florence (and the english countryside). Julian Sands and Helena Bonham Carter fans will also be pleased. |

| I still have this film on VHS. However,the DVD copy looks great on a High Definition screen and sounds great in surround sound. This movie still is fun to watch after all of these years. |

| There is NO argument! This is THE BEST SNL ALUMNI MOVIE EVER!!! Not only is it FUNNY, but it's also intelligent. This is one of those movies that you just have to watch every time it's on tv even though it is cut horribly for tv.
DVD or Blu-ray is THE way to watch this movie in all of it's glory. In fact, it's become a 'Christmas' movie at out house. I have literally watched this movie and then gone back and watched it again. THAT'S how GREAT this movie is! |

| When this movie came out in the late '80's, I hadn't heard anything about it, but rented it on a whim one evening since I enjoy history and period pieces very much. I was completely blown away by this movie. It captured the heartwrenching love story of Abelard and Heloise in 12th century Pars, and the subsequent tragic consequences of their union, in a manner I've not seen portrayed in any other movie to this day. | Nice reproduction. It was originally filmed in great quality. Not real sure if the Blue-ray version is that much better. I viewed it on a 720p 42" LCD. But the price made it worth it. |

| An all star cast, headed up by Gregory Peck and Lawrence Olivier, makes this a great thriller about the cloning of Hitler. As others noted at the time this movie was made cloning was off in the future but as science makes science fiction reality, it makes the movie more powerful in having a basis for "What If?"
The DVD itself was okay in terms of picture quality and played well on my DVD Player and I did not find that it detracted from the movie. Great acting, great story great movie. |
