Ditto all the great reviews here. I saw this when it came out, but why isn't it out on DVD? The top-grossing Irish film of 1998 can't catch a break from the ditributors here. What a pity.

VHS : Richie Rich's Christmas Wish
Richie Rich's Christmas Wish is a great movie. I really enjoyed it as it kept me entertained while I had the flu. I was laughing in alot of parts and it has a very interesting plot. It is true as one reviewer said, this movie in a way symbolizes Its a Wonderful Life but I enjoyed this one more because I cant stand sitting down to watch a Black and White film that was made in like the prehistoric years! I like this 7th Heaven dude better than the Home Alone dude because he fits the role of Richie Rich ... Read More:

3.Phenomenon starring: John Travolta, Kyra Sedgwick, Forest Whitaker, Robert Duvall, Jeffrey DeMunn
directed by: Jon Turteltaub

VHS : Phenomenon
This movie is a special piece all the way. Travolta shines - and the chemistry is perfect in all other characters. If you read about spiritual light and sound in Paul Twitchell's The Flute of God (!!!), you have an even better handle on the depth of this movie! Movie and book can expand what you are . . . if it's your time.

This obscure gem of a film is clearly a labor of love by Matthew Broderick, who directed it and stars as Nobel Laureate Richard Feynman in the story of his first marriage.

Broderick ensures that we get a picture of Feynman's quirky personality, the very embodiment of the Scientific Method and iconoclastic clowning. But, the focus is clearly on his growing love for Aline, their marriage, and their life together.

The film has a little more science than most Americans are comfortable ... Read More:

VHS : Bob Roberts
"Bob Roberts" is a mockumentary about the senatorial campaign of a rich folk singer with a set of right-wing beliefs. Written, directed and starring Tim Robbins, who is well known for his left-wing views, this film cleverly satirizes right-wing politics and politicians (and the music of Bob Dylan). I suspect that how people react to this film will largely depend on their own personal beliefs. My beliefs lie somewhere between those of Robbins and his alter ego. I think that few people would have beliefs as far ... Read More:

This was a great show. It's fast-paced and funny. Our whole family enjoyed it. I'd definitly recommend this show to anyone who loves mysteries, and is sick of all the garbage in most movies. This is a very decent film for everybody.

7.Complex World starring: Stanley Matis, Margo Dionne, Allen Oliver, Daniel von Bargen, Joe Klimek

This Made For TV production could very easily have fallen on its face by attempting to imitate the feature film. Wisely, the director and writers didn't try to recreate Bogart, MacMurray and Ferrar and let the actors create their own Queeg, Keefer and Greenwald. The best scenes are Queeq's cross-examination and the dismantlement of the smug, prissy psychiatrist. This video is well worth your time to watch.

NOTE: The quality of picture and sound is not close to DVD standards.

9.Johnny Skidmarks starring: Peter Gallagher, Frances McDormand, John Lithgow, John Kapelos, Jack Black

It's a real shame that this film went straight to cable-television, instead of the theaters. I probably would not have caught this film if I had not been visiting by eldest brother. I think it was a very well done film, and Director John Roffo did an excellent job with the character development in this particular film. The films narrative centers around an individual named Johnny (Peter Gallagher), who works as a police photographer. Johnny takes pictures of crime scenes: murders, car accidents, or suicides. Any and ... Read More:

Leads to understanding profound truths through a mix of eye candy and clear ideas, lags a teeny bit in places, but generally a magnet for ideas leading to AHA's. I loved it, as I do most of Gregg's productions.
