VHS : A Season for Miracles - Hallmark Hall Of Fame
I loved this movie from the moment I first came upon it. The plot is excellent and keeps you deep into the story wondering what will happen next. The actors are marvelous, each in his/her own way, very natural - in fact it reminds me of the old Jimmy Stewart movies that were so heart-warming, but this one is contemporary with modern themes. The film takes place at Christmas which is an added bonus. But I watch this movie throughout the year, whenever it comes on the Hallmark channel or if our family ... Read More:

VHS : Love Letter (1998)
Growing up with Somewhere in Time (Collector's Edition), I was intrigued by Hallmark Hall of Fame's Love Letter, based on a haunting 1959 short story by Jack Finney. Scott Corrigan is a Civil War buff who designs Civil War simulation games (check out the 1998 computer graphics!). One day as he and his fiancee Debra are shopping for a vintage wedding gown, he discovers an antique desk and it's love at first sight, even though he can't really afford it. Scott's also a restorer in his spare time, so when he tries ... Read More:

One of my favourite films. This has incredible one liners, great slapstick, Bill Murray at his best and a really strange but completely great premise behind the whole thing.

Superb.

This movie is awful in pretty much every way possible. But it is so awful that it ends up being great. Just watch Rawhead run if you need further proof of this movie's entertainment value

I read the book to my two children, age 11 yo son and 5 yo daughter. My son was excited to get the movie. However, when we watched it, my son was disappointed. He noted the drastic change in story line, the poor quality of the lighting/screen colors, and the poor acting. My son is an actor himself, but had never made such comments before and this was the first movie he had ever walked out on. On the other hand, my daughter loved it. I did not like the change in the storyline making the grandparents seem much stricter.

Nobody Drowns in Mineral Lake

Stanley R. Jaffe directed this excellent 1983 film, adapted by Beth Gutcheon from her novel, STILL MISSING, which was, in turn, based on an actual case of a missing child.

One morning, college professor Kate Nelligan watches her nearly seven-year-old son go off to school, only to discover later that he never arrived there. Judd Hirsch plays the NYC detective who leads the investigation that stretches ... Read More:

I am thoroughly happy with the purchase of Winds of War and War & Rememberance. These are fantastic movies. It brings you into the war and makes you part of it. The stories were linked together so you really needed to have both of these great movies. Buying from Amazon has been the best for me and I will continue to make purchases with them. AL
