VHS : At Play in the Fields of the Lord (2pc)
Where is it? I echo previous reviewers asking why this classic has not been released on DVD. A burnt-out reviewer like Terrence Rafferty (The New Yorker) pans it, but real people who do not live on Manhattan's Upper West Side see virtue in the film. I'm among them and so, happily, is Roger Ebert. Among the many things I like about the film is its portrayal of the wise, patient Catholic priest, who has seen it all yet seems to have retained his faith in a very trying setting and has put his hope where ... VHS : Reckless (1984)
Reckless is truly a classic but it does not get the critic it deserves. While the is about the quintessential good girl meeting bad boy, but the chemistry that Hannah and Quinn have comes across the screen as very authentic. It's the ultimate tale of two opposite attracts. The movie draws you into each one of their lives. It's dramatic, it's mysterous, rebelluous, and romantic. I am surprised it is not on DVD yet because unlike the other movies of the 80's I don't think Reckless is dated. It's a true classic. ... Read More:

VHS : Addams Family Reunion (Clam)
I admit that I was slightly dissapointed when I watched this movie. The fact that there were different actors and actresses took awhile to get used to, but they were better than I expected. Tim Curry was actually a very good Gomez, apart from his attempt to sound Spanish. Daryl Hannah was a wonderful Morticia, accept for the fact that the person who tweezed her eyebrows did a very bad job. Wednesday was not the same, Christina Ricci portrayed her part alot better, but she was an okay Wednesday. As for Pugsley, they ... Read More:

VHS : Grumpy Old Men (P&S)
Grumpy Old Men is an excellent comedy and definitely worth the purchase price for great entertainment. The interaction between Jack Lemmon and Walter Matrhau borders on genius. These two characters are elderly neighbors who compete as ice fisherman and for the attention and affection of an attractive newcomer to the neighborhood, Ann Margaret. It is a hilarious madcap adventure.

VHS : Dancing at Blue Iguana
This is one of the worst films I've ever seen ! Here are just a few of my criticisms:

3 of the actresses (Hannah, Oh, and Kelley) are way too old to be strippers. Yes they look great for their ages, but they wouldn't cut it in a strip club with younger competition.

Strippers aren't all a mess, and yet the ones at this club are. Very unrealistic.

No men would go to a strip club where the women kept their bottoms on.

There is no point to this movie other than to apparently moralize ... Read More:

this movie is a bit sad. It is an ok movie but I couldn't watch it again. There are a few rape type scenes. Not a kids flick. Not really worth buying.

Made for TV by Hallmark. This movie runs almost 3 hours - 174 minutes, too bad it was shot at 1:33 aspect ratio.
Nominated for 4 Emmys and won 2
PG Rated

Starring Matthew Modine, Vanessa Redgrave, Richard Attenborough, Darry Hannah and Jon Voight

Such a wonderful story written by Brian Henson (son of Jim Henson and Co-CEO of the Jim Henson Company). How many Jack and the Beanstalk movies have you seen yet? But this one is really different, I guarantee you. It is long but worth every minute of it.

Kill Bill - Volume One
This is my first Quentine Tarantino film. Editing is ultimate. Wow! What Music! Uma Thurman gives a terrific performance. I knever knew Michael Madsen or Carradine at that time. Both actors were my Dad's-time-guys. But after seeing Kill Bill, I have pin-ups of Madsen in my room. Paps always used to speak of 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Jackie Brown' etc..but they were not 'my-period' films. Even Daryl Hannah! I knew her only as the 'mermaid' from 'Splash'. I saw KILL BILL on the BIG SCREEN and became hooked. Now I do not miss a ... Read More:

One of the Funniest, and saddest, movies made. But, even after the sad instances, there would be a spirit lifting line or scene. I laughed hard and cried harder.
