| Don't take this movie too seriously and you'll just love it. I've watched it every year for years. I agree that it should be released on DVD; the prices for VHS are too high for a medium that tears up easily. The storyline, about a singing star who escapes back to the area she came from to get away from showbiz, is cute but it's Dolly who makes the part. | Reckless is truly a classic but it does not get the critic it deserves. While the is about the quintessential good girl meeting bad boy, but the chemistry that Hannah and Quinn have comes across the screen as very authentic. It's the ultimate tale of two opposite attracts. The movie draws you into each one of their lives. It's dramatic, it's mysterous, rebelluous, and romantic. | This is my all-time favorite movie. There is not one wasted scene or false note. The performances are excellent. I am not alone in my opinion: Ben Kingsley said in an interview I watched, that this was his favorite of all the movies he's done. | This isn't the most original plot in the world, but it's definitely a sweet and touching tale nonetheless. The beautiful visuals highlight LaPaglia's tender performance of a shy, quiet priest trying to get by during WWII. In particular, this is a showcase of LaPaglia's wonderful array of sad-eyed expressions, puppy-dog guilty looks, and heart-grabbing sighs. If you dig LaPaglia in emotional settings, you will definitely want to see this movie.
