VHS : Little Lord Fauntleroy
This version starring Alec Guinness is clearly superior to the original. The story doesn't get cut off at the end as in the American original to keep it within the time limits, in short it is a quality English movie. This is a copy from a tape as it was never made as a DVD, too bad, some quality is lost. I would rate the DVD as good overall; quality script, actors, settings, color photography, but the sound was weak in places. Service was prompt.

Bought the original VHS copy in 1980. Have all but worn it out. Have been searching for another copy only to find that later versions are shorter in length. This version, with Rickey Schroeder and Alec Guiness, needs to be on DVD in the original full length. Loaned it to many friends and received the same review by all ages.

"If a statesmen foresakes with private conscience for the sake of public office, he leads his county to a short route to chaos." Thomas More to Cardinal Wolsey regarding granting an unlaw divorce to King Henry VIII from his barren wife.

How great a country would America be if our Congress men and women had the courage of Thomas Moore.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again
Peter Sellers returns as the slightly dim-witted, Inspector Jack Clouseau, in this sporadically funny follow-up. Steve Martin, like in a Hindu Proverb, has to be born a thousand incarnations, before he can come within a thousand miles of Peter Sellers. This time, Clouseau, is fighting his former chief, Dreyfus(Herbert Lom), who controls a piece of machinery, with which he is threatening to blow us all sky high. Blake Edwards is at the helm again, and, Lesley Ann Down, provides the ... Read More:

VHS : Evil Under the Sun
Probably the best of all the Hercule Poirot screen adaptations, and that's saying something because Suchet is really, really good.

I don't know what's wrong with the "official" reviewer. There is nothing "lazy" about this screenplay. The electric verbal sparring between Daphne Castle (Maggie Smith) and Arlena Marshall (Diana Rigg) can attest to that, as can the venomous wit of the Gardners towards the outlandish Rex, and the cutting and feisty attitude of Linda Marshal, who manages to be sympathetic despite a semi-serious attempt to ...
