VHS : Abbott & Costello: Naughty Nineties
Perhaps not their best movie but a favorite of A&C fans because it contains some of their classic routines, including the "Who's on First" bit. There is also a great schtick where Lou is looking through a porthole, his face covered in shaving cream, and Joe Sawyer looks out, also lathered up, and thinks he's seeing his own image in a mirror. The weird thing is they don't look anything alike. The picture has something to do with the boys working on a riverboat and getting involved with gamblers, but ... Read More:

I am a huge animal lover, but somehow I had never seen this movie. The "Christian the lion" clip really got me interested in that story which led me to this story.

This movie was positively fantastic. The storyline was heartwarming in itself, but the landscape was breathtaking.

This movie was a real treat and I am sure that I will enjoy watching it again and again.

I sure wish this were available on dvd. Just great performances from Diana Rigg, Dame Judi, and Helen Mirren. Just imagine the best performance of MND and relax if you can hunt down a used copy of this because you just found it.

While this movie may not be historically accurate, it stands out for two reasons. The acting of Ava Gardner as she portrays a half Indian, half Welsh young woman during one of the most turbulent times in the history of the Indian sub-continent. She was ably supported by a distinguished cast. The second reason is the portrayal of those times. The British had little to be proud about over their management of the sub-continent, but they did leave behind a fully functioning civil service, including the management of the railways. ... Unlike some of his movies, in this role as an Indian Scout you see a different multi-culture side of him.

Laurence Harvey is oddly perfect as Romeo, that girl ought to
be edited out of the movie. The scenery is wonderful. It's very
elegant and exquisite to watch.

VHS : An Elephant Called Slowly
My two-year-old has an obsession with elephants so I did a little research to try and find something for her to watch besides Dumbo and Babar. I came across this video and actually ended up getting this and Born Free, which has the same actors. To be honest, we never made it through this movie the first several times we tried to watch it -- it seemed a little slow in the beginning. However, once we had watched Born Free five hundred times we decided to give this one another try and I'm so glad we did because this movie is absolutely darling. ... Read More:

VHS : Gorgo

I have to admit i love this movie. Growing up as a kid, i always use to love watching the classic dinosaur movies. Wether it was stop motion animation or the man in the rubber suit routine like the Godzilla movies. Wether or not you like Gorgo, this movie has the most realistic, incredible special effects out of most of the giant monster films. No stop motion animation here, just an actor in a rubber suit stomping through miniatures. You'll have to squint your eyes pretty close to tell if the London landmarks are models.

Anyways i've had an old ... Read More:
