VHS : Titanic
This was a great movie to see in the theater, which is not a typical thing for me to say, and so it is even better in your own home (although the 61" telly helps), where you can pause it and get up to go to the loo. But it was every bit as amazing and moving and incredible to watch. And even though I knew the end of the film, I was still on the edge of my seat as the ship went to her watery grave. An amazing experience for all ages!

2.Apollo 13 starring: Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris

This movie is just superb. The story is great, acting is great, and the historical accuracy is perfect. I loved the attention to detail that went into this movie. Definitely a must see even if you're not a space or NASA buff.

3.Tombstone starring: Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe
directed by: George P. Cosmatos

Tombstone - The Director's Cut (Vista Series) As opposed to the DVD Tombstone which is a single DVD cased in a black box contianer, the "Director's Cut" provides us with a wonderful "Silhouette-Beige" Earthtone - Double-folding Jacket which contains two (2) DVD's. Wow! Next, this double-folding jacket slides into a TOMBSTONE color-portfolio box! The earthtone colors are simply amazing to view; I was so moved by the professional artistry that it took me almost an entire hour to cease reviewing its breath ... Read More:

VHS : Evening Star
By the time Jack Nicholson shows up for about five minutes of screen time as Garrett Breedlove, this turgid 1996 sequel to 1983's Terms of Endearment has already slogged through two deaths, a psychotherapist with an Oedipal complex, and a lot of scrapbooks. The problems with this shamelessly manipulative movie are many, and they all begin with the inevitable premise that tough Texas matron Aurora Greenway can carry on without being challenged by her feisty daughter Emma. However, without Debra Winger's earthy ... Read More:

5.Twister starring: Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Cary Elwes, Jami Gertz, Philip Seymour Hoffman

VHS : Twister
Twister is one of my all-time favorite action movies and have watched it more times than I would like to admit. The best transfer on DVD still left alot to be desired. Now,the the transfer on Blu-Ray has been cleaned up and improved dramatically. It's not reference quality,of course, but I give the picture a solid 4 out of 5 for a movie of this age.I can't comment on the new lossless soundtrack because I am unable to decode yet.
Definitely highly recommended even if you have the latest DVD version.

6.Pass the Ammo starring: Bill Paxton, Linda Kozlowski, Tim Curry, Annie Potts, Dennis Burkley

I've seen this film about 8 times & it's lots of fun to watch with people with a sense of humor to match my own.

Just one of those movies you watched growing up. And then want to buy when your older! Good movie about the early stages of geeks.

This movie is cute for my 8 year old but it's not really one she wants to watch over and over in our van for long trips. It has some sad parts and the story line is too heavy for my 2 year old to stay interested. It's very cute and enjoyable but is more a one time movie in our opinion. I'm still glad to own it.

9.Streets of Fire starring: Michael Paré, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, Amy Madigan, Willem Dafoe

Awesome movie.
Ahead of it's time.
They should make a remake!

10.True Lies starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton, Charlton Heston

VHS : True Lies
True Lies has long been on the Sid the Elf back-burner. It was on the list of films that must be reviewed at some point, and kind of became an emergency B. It was like the Vinny Testaverde of B, weren't too excited to use it because of the apparent clumsiness involved, but if first and second options failed, you might be ok going with it. Well, we officially went into emergency B mode this week so we went with True Lies. It turns out that we were exactly right, there was a ton of clumsiness to endure, but in the end Sid came out ok. Really, you're ... Read More:
