| I have always been a Muppet fan and was privaliged to have been raised on Sesame Street. Brian Henson has what his father Jim Henson had, A wonderful imagination and sense of humor. If you take the Muppet movies too literally you miss the point, just enjoy. |

| Many people seem to be missing the point of this excellent indie production. This is NOT meant to be some action-filled, war epic. But rather, a thoughtful, small-scale film, focusing on a small group of men from both sides of the Civil War. I've seen a number of reviews saying how far-fetched the plot was - nonsense! | The War Lover simply tells the tale of two B-17 pilots in love with Daphne Caldwell (Shirley Anne Field) during the middle of WWII. To make things a little more complex (and of course a little more interesting), Capt Buzz Rickson (played by Steve McQueen) is a strong leader of his crew and the other pilot in love with Daphne is in his crew (Lt. Ed Bolland, played by Robert Wagner). The frustrating piece to Buzz is that Ed is winning the war of love.
