VHS : Stealing Heaven
When this movie came out in the late '80's, I hadn't heard anything about it, but rented it on a whim one evening since I enjoy history and period pieces very much. I was completely blown away by this movie. It captured the heartwrenching love story of Abelard and Heloise in 12th century Pars, and the subsequent tragic consequences of their union, in a manner I've not seen portrayed in any other movie to this day. I have looked and looked for a copy of this movie to buy, but have been unsuccessful. ... Read More:

"The Lady's Not for Burning" is set in a room in the house of Hebble Tyson, Mayor of the small market-town of Cool Clary, more or less or exactly in the year 1400. VHS : Woman in Black (1989)
Herbert Wise's "The Woman in Black" is not a particularly well-known horror film, yet there are nearly 140 reviews of it on this Web site. That gives you an idea of the impact this DVD has on anyone who has ever seen it. It begins and proceeds quietly, it contains no gore, it would bore the life out of people whose idea of a great horror film is "Hostel" or "Saw." Yet for those viewers who appreciate films such as "The Innocents" or the original "Haunting," "The Woman in Black" is an obvious and unforgettable classic. The film's quietly ... Read More:

VHS : Plague Dogs
Richard Adams's novel 'The Plague Dogs' always stood in the shadow of his superior masterpiece - the classic 'Watership Down'.
