VHS : Galaxy of Terror
I remember watching this movie on showtime or hbo back in the 80's and I know it was the movie that I still talk about that really made me jump in a projectile mode across the couch. I was hoping to get it in DVD so as to show it to a roommate of mine. Just can't find it except in VHS tape. That saddens me.

2.Mother Night starring: Nick Nolte, Sheryl Lee, Alan Arkin, Bernard Behrens, Anna Berger
directed by: Keith Gordon

VHS : Mother Night
An interesting DVD. The movie was good but the extras were even better. The interview with Vonnegut and Nolte was quite interesting, as was an idea for trailer that was eventually modified before being used. It occurred to me that the original trailer (still admired by the producers) violated the warning of the movie by being something that should not even be pretended at.

3.Evidence of Blood starring: David Strathairn, Mary McDonnell, Sean McCann, Chris Wiggins, Jackie Burroughs
directed by: Andrew Mondshein

VHS : Evidence of Blood
Moody, dark, southern, rich in suspense and captivating characters. Do you know how many movies David Strathairn and Mary McDonnell have made together? Beautifully matched talent. The story is built carefully and slowly, with the kind of twist in the climax following climax that satisfies. It is truly a worthy story that deserves more attention and more air time than it has obviously had. I wish it would be reintroduced even on the oxygen channel, or lifetime, or hallmark, somewhere so that enough ... Read More:

SPECIAL BULLETIN (1983)
dir. Edward Zwick
approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

This is an excellent movie about nuclear anxiety during the Cold War.

It is shot to resemble a series of TV broadcasts, cutting between a newsroom and its correspondents. The story involves a group of anti-nuclear activists who threaten to set off a nuclear explosive in Charleston, South Carolina. They say that they will dismantle their own device if the government agrees to let them destroy a surplus of nuclear ... Read More:

VHS : The School for Scandal (Broadway Theatre Archive)
A crisp production negotiated with wit and flair, this delicious confection offers a tantilizing glimpse of the mores and manners of Sheridan's 18th century England. Guided with a sure hand by Michael Langham and Nick Havinga, this handsome production is well paced, wittily acted, and far worthier than the sneering commentary of the reviewers below would have you believe.

8.Sorry Wrong Number (1989) starring: Loni Anderson, Carl Weintraub, Patrick Macnee, Diane D'Aquila, Miguel Fernandes

VHS : Sorry Wrong Number (1989)
I recently bought the movie and watched it twice and enjoyed it very much. I thought the acting was wonderful and there just isn't hardly anyone more beautiful than Loni Anderson. When I bought the movie, I didn't try to compare it to the original. Loni gave a more sensitive sad portrayal of the doomed character than Barbara Stanwyck. When you have a remake made over 40 years later, you really should not compare it to the original. Hal Holbrooks gave an excellent portrayal as Loni's father as well. I totally disagree with the other ... Read More:

VHS : Swashbuckler
This film came out in '76 I believe and was overshadowed by The Godfather and all those others. It is a fabulous gem for those who love swinging around on ropes, the call of the open sea, slashing swords and comraderie that rivals the best of Star Trek! Robert Shaw is mesmerizing in this romantic lead, and a huge surprise! Genevieve Bujold is also a small but plucky rapier wielding delight! Amazing supporting cast with Geofrey Holder as Cujo the knife thrower and his street theatre band, Beau Bridges in his stunning 20's, Peter ... Read More:
