VHS : History Is Made at Night
History is Made at Night is a fine romantic film with a good cast. Jean Arthur stars as Irene Vail, a faithful wife to a jealous husband. One night, her husband plans to frame her, attempting to prove she has cheated on him so that she cannot get a divorce from him. The plan fails when a good samaritan (Charles Boyer) walks in and foils the plan. He takes Irene away and the two fall madly in love with each other. When the jealous husband comes back to find his wife missing and his plans in disarray, he murders the man ... Read More:

I have seen most (if not all) of his movies. Errol has always been at the top of my list for free spirited actors. He was a rogue. His alcoholism did not help his acting any, but he managed to (in his younger years) be a fine actor with character and heart for the roll he was playing. The movie had a good plot but not enough (at least for me) interaction between him and Barbara. Because I am a very outspoken person, Barbara could have done a better job of standing her ground and confronting him, instead of sneaking around.

6.Tale of Two Cities: Literary Masterpieces starring: Chris Sarandon, Peter Cushing, Kenneth More, Barry Morse, Flora Robson

VHS : Tale of Two Cities: Literary Masterpieces
I was impressed by the dual act of Chris Sarandon.

I took one star because the movie did not show much of the characters' passion!

Two men are in love with one woman. It would be hard for her to choose so one of them scarified himself for her happiness. The movie ends with her tears (Alice Krige) as she discovers his true feelings and the sacrifice he made.

It remains one of my favorite movies!

7.Saint Joan (1957) starring: Richard Widmark, Richard Todd, Anton Walbrook, John Gielgud, Jean Seberg

VHS : Saint Joan (1957)
Saint Joan premiered in London on May 26, 1924. Written by Irish playwright, George Bernard Shaw, Saint Joan was adapted to film by Graham Greene. Otto Preminger directed and produced this film in 1957. Saint Joan was actress Jean Seberg's first movie; she was 17 years old then probably the same age as Jeanne D'arc herself when her unpaid career began in the French military.

Joan of Arc died in Rouen, France in Normandy on May 30, 1431. She was burned at the stake.

This movie is one of my all time favorite Christian flicks. ... Read More:

Charlie Chan in the Secret Service (1944) Two years after Twentieth Century Fox decided to end the Charlie Chan movie series, poverty row Monogram Studios picked up the franchise and pressed an aging Sidney Toler back into service as the inscrutable detective.
This was the first of their Chan adventures, which has Charlie working for the secret service/Treasury department, with no explanation of how he got there from the Honolulu police department.
The mystery to be solved here is the death of an inventor under government protection. ... Read More:

9.The Changeling starring: George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, Melvyn Douglas, Jean Marsh, John Colicos
directed by: Peter Medak
December 13, 1993
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : The Changeling
Wonderful, Excellent. Now this is what I call a great ghost story...without any of the ax-hacking, blood & guts teen slasher elements. That seems to be all that Hollywood can produce nowdays. The Changeling has an interesting story line and very spooky scenes as well as a wonderful performance by George C. Scott...as always. Highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good old-fashioned thriller or ghost story.

This movie was as funny today as 30 years ago. Pete and Dud's comedy is brilliant and stands the test of time.
