| I bought this a couple of years ago but never had the chance to watch it. I am glad I did.
I believe the characters, I believe the story. Then again, when it is two superb craftsmen as Mary Tyler Moore and Robert Preston, it is quite easy. Incredible nuance in both of their performances, never a false note. And Sam Waterston is a hoot!!! My wife and I are Law & Order addicts and to see him in this role was hysterical. |

| This is an amazing movie where Edward Norton gives a spectacular performance. Edward Norton starts out as an unrepentant white supremacist but after his jail experience, he comes out trying to save his younger brother from that life. It is an amazing movie about how racism and hatred doesn't get you anywhere and leaves last ripples. It is somewhat graphic so it is not for the younger crowd. It's amazing from start to finish and the ending leave you stunned (and I cried). It is a must own for anyone who enjoys drama films, ... Read More: |

| I thought that janet jackson part in the movie didn't really give a strong plot really at all. I felt that Tupac acting was better than Janet and the part with Regins King.If your bored at home it's worth watching if nothing else is on tv. Bring back the 90's feel . |

| This is the true life account of a man by the name of Solomon Northup who was born a free African-American who was kidnapped and enslaved. The account details the 11 years he spent in slavery being sold several times and the experiences he suffered until a relative and his wife secured his freedom. A video that shows the entire slavery experience. He later wrote his life story which was widely read in the north. |

| It is a great story. I think it should have been written into the original ROOTS, not shown as a seperate movie. Louis Gossett,Jr., and Levar Burton were terrific just as they were in the original ROOTS. We only see about five minutes of Michael Learned, which is a shame because she is such a good actress, I think they could have expanded her role. Shaun Cassidy was alright...I never thought he could act. It is a very moving story; brought me to tears when seeing how awful the slaves were treated. |
