| I agree with everybody that has posted reviews about this movie, but the ones that have only 1 or 2 stars. In the style of Gone With the Wind, the novel shows how families were at first united, then separated during the conflict. I am familiar with the historical facts and that is why I could follow the locations and time, but someone who has not read the book or know little about the true facts would be a little lost. | One of the local vid stores used to do 2-for-Tuesdays, two video's for a full week for 99 cents, my daughter LOVED this movie and rented it so many times that the store owner gave it to her. Lo and behold she actually wore her copy out, and just in time for her birthday (16) it arrived safe and sound and in very decent shape, I kudo's the seller. | A classic in every since of the word. The movie it'self is great and I have introduced this film to my nieces and nephews who love it too. It's timless and just a good film. |

Not that I don't like Reservoir Dogs (I love it) but one should receive what is ordered... :-( |

| loveable geek Anthony Micheal Hall is fantastic in this action film with some other soon to be great stars such as Jenny wright ( forest gump, the crossing guard, near dark ) and meat loaf to name a few. great action suspense and great to see the geek get to be a real man for a change, and the villian adds the weight needed to make Anthony's ressurection from geek to street wise player |

| I saw this wonderful movie in 1990 when it first came out. I was already a Tim Burton fan of sorts, but this made me a Burton fanatic. I saw it first with my wife, and I remember thinking at the very beginning, when Danny Elfman's haunting, beautiful score was only a few notes old, that I was going to love this film. And I did.
