| Being a golfer and a fan of the sport for many years, I was very interested in seeing this, which I did when the VHS first came out. Later, I saw it again because of the same reason plus I usually find Glenn Ford's films entertaining.

| I saw this movie when I was a kid of course and now that I teach US History was hoping that it might work in place of the ever popular Saving Private Ryan. The movie is all about the background of the boys, how they grew up, the relationship they had as brothers, their fighting spirit and how they tried to make sure they stayed together in the military (in this case the Navy) during the war. | I'm a big classic movie buff, and this rates among my top favorites. Westerns, as a rule, aren't my style, but this one has enough romance to keep me interested. I have no idea why they named it 'Three Violent People'. If anything, this movie lacks the shoot-em-up scenes so common in westerns. None of the three main stars live up to the violent part, but they do fill their classic character parts well. The chemistry between Heston and Baxter is superb. |
