| I was dragged to this movie as a young boy. What young man wants to see a movie with a singing prince and a love story? It didn't take long for me to enjoy the story of male bonding by singing and drinking in the beer garden soon to be followed by a sword fight.

| I watched this as a kid and still have fond memories of it.
I would love to have it on DVD. I am a huge mermaid fan and I think this movie inspired it. There is debate whether or not he imagined her or not. I think in this movie she was real and he did experience all those things that happened. The end where he gave his wife a hairpiece that belonged to the mermaid. That tore me apart. | I am not saying that I am fifty or anything like that, but I can relate to this movie. It makes you want to take up fishing. And William Powell portrays Mr. Peabody as well if not better than he does Nick Charles. Ann Blyth as Lenore the Mermaid does not have much to say but you understand her very well. This was filmed on location at Weekiwachee Spring, Florida. I have watched this so many times that I do not have to look up any more, even though I do. I also like all the scenes in the Psychiatrist's office.
