| People who rave about this movie, it makes me wonder .. have you ever seen a Bond before (Particularly the early ones with Sean Connery and the Moore films LALD, TPWLM, FYEO & OP). | A tawdry and twisted boardroom farce and journalistic spoof. Top notch performances throughout. Equal in caliber in every way to Robert Harris' book, which is a tremendous beach read with serious message. It's chilling to think that the history of Nazi Germany was almost re-written by a drunken gun-nut forger and his emotionally-unhinged dupe. Although very talky, it never drags. | As the previous viewer was upset over the book vs. movie I can say I didn't even know there was a book to this story. It's a wonderful story - beautfully told and it will keep you on hte end your seat the entire time. I wish they would make in on DVD. It deserves one!

| This was in Ireland in the 1950's. The houses near the sea in the town of Castlebay, hear the sweet rustle of wind. | Ummm, you people who think Mickey Rourke (Martin Fallon) was giving a great performance really need to watch more movies. Rourke's accent was almost as funny as Richard Gere's in "The Jackal." He was okay, but not great.
Maybe this was a good movie in the 80's for that genre, but it was very slow, predictable and filled with stereotypical characterizations of cops and bad guys.
