| I purchased this OnGuard Pitbull MINI DT 5008 lock after extensive research on the best locks and locking techniques available. I decided to use the Sheldon Brown method, which requires you to lock your back wheel to a rack or parking meter, making sure you pass through the rear triangle of the frame. A mini u-lock is recommended as it is harder for thieves to work with. | As others have mentioned..... the flickering lights are very realistic and charming. They lasts for a least 4 hours (but its summer with lots of sunlight to recharge the battery). The main negative is the cheapo, flimsy pole. I will have to do some work to retrofit some new poles - before the first good wind breaks the original plastic poles. |

| i don't usually have the time or bother to write reviews, but i just thought i'd let everyone know that like several other reviewers of this lock, i too had my bike stolen using it. another bike locked to the same post as mine with a different u-lock was left untouched.
the lock doesn't work. reason enough not to purchase it i think. i'm getting a more heavy duty one this time. |
