| We've had this CO detector plugged in for over six years and the only time it ever sounded an alarm was when we had hardwood floors installed in our house. I'm not sure what triggered the alarm but it got everyone's attention. It's LOUD. There's no way anyone will sleep through this sound. You can hear the alarm outside when it's going off inside. Once the alarm sounds you have to power it off to silence it.

| This is the second First Alert Carbon Monoxide detector we've owned. The first went out in 6 months. This model went out in 1 month. The alarm kept going off. I moved a Kidde model into the room and it showed no carbon monoxide in the air. We chucked the First Alerts into the trash! |

| I really like this CO Detector. Don't confuse this with a model that only works on battery power or A/C power. This one runs on A/C power until your power goes out and then runs on battery power. This is necessary. Say your power goes out and someone stupidly turns on a gas heater in your house. The detector will go off when the CO level rises. If your detector only runs on A/C power, you'd be toast. For your sake and your kids sake, by a CO detector that runs on both A/C and battery power. I've had this ... Read More: |

I at first was leaning towards the press and hold variety you will find at dollar stores, but after going through a number of them I wanted something that would last at least a year. | This light is a knock out!!! It is really bright and it's heavy enough to knock out any intruders! I keep this mag light by my bed and sleep like a baby. One thing I really like is that you can change the width of the beam by twisting the top of the flashlight near the bulb. If you twist it one way it widens the circle of light and twist it the other way and it makes a small intense beam. In all, this is the best flashlight I have ever owned! |

| This is not a good escape ladder for kids. We have a 6 year old daughter who was not strong enough to lift this heavy ladder up to the window, unfold the cumbersome hooks, and then throw the ladder part out the window. It is hard and awkward even for an adult to do this let alone a child.
