| I bought this unit to create a back up system for my home hot water steam heat radiator system. We are experiencing more and more power outages during our harsh winter months, and although we have natural gas and the pilot stays on during an electrical outage, there is a small gas valve that needs 25 volts of power to open to allow the gas to be lite by the pilot. | I do not ofter leave a review, but in this case I wanted to leave one. I concider myself to be a pro when it comes to tools and can give them a run for the money even on a first try. Reviewers have mentioned burned up motors and too hard to build, this saw was a cinch to build, and if they used the oil, motors and chains are not burning up for a long time. | I bought this after our first big snowfall in December (07). Our gas blower crapped out on us last winter. In Wisconsin, we had our second highest total December snowfall on record. January is now over and so far we have had a ludicrous amount of snow. So my Snow Fox has been used extensively already. I would say a 4.5 star rating is more accurate. | Charges my Thinkpad T60 with 9-cell battery without a problem. Very small, perhaps a little larger than a deck of playing cards. Will easily fit in a glove compartment. Whisper quiet. | I got the unit a few days ago and set it up in my garage. In the past, it appears that the field mice have been entering my house in the winter through the garage, so it made sense to install it there. I found the unit loud and annoying, but it didn't seem to affect any of my dogs on the first floor. Unfortunately, on the third day, I actually saw a field mouse run into the garage when I opened the garage door, so the unit doesn't seem to keep field mice out.
