| This fan was a great value. It's very nice looking and is the perfect size for the two small bedrooms (11 by 11 and 10 by 14) we installed it in. It has several speeds and is very quiet at all of them. The one challenge is that the recommended installation left a one inch gap between our ceiling and the fan collar. We removed the cushioned spacers and that cut the gap in half, but there is still a gap there. You'd never notice it if you just walked into the room, but it bothered me when I installed ... | This little device is my three season buddy, without which I could not survive. It focuses heat on one unmoving object, namely, you, at your desk or workbench, and makes you tolerably comfortable even if the rest of the room is cold. It will warm up the room eventually -- Today, for instance, it raised the temperature of a modest-sized high-ceilinged room 10 degrees in 6 hours.

I'm posting this on all Vornado listings on Amazon, as all potential purchasers need to be aware of the shortcomings of Vornado's warranty policy. I purchased two fans from Vornado direct. Both were larger, more expensive units (280 & 285) that had either ten year or lifetime warranties. One year after the purchase, the 285 began to vibrate upon start-up. | I was on the hunt to find a space heater that could deliver everything I needed and I found it in this one! It works like a convection oven heating the room evenly and quickly. It took the room up 10 degrees in a half hour, I turned the thermostat down until it clicked off (as per instructions) and it kept the room at my desired temp all night. HEAVY UNIT and appears quality made. I followed the instructions but went a step further when it said to RUN IT ON THE HIGHEST SETTING FOR 2 HOURS in a WELL VENTILATED AREA. I put mine outside and let it run for 2.5 hours......full blast. Glad I did. Even so, when I put it in the basement and turned it on.....there was still a faint odor....not really objectionable.....but like something's burning or is "hot". | I'd recommend going into the assembly process in a good mood, so you can get a laugh out of the somewhat chaotic and sketchy assembly instructions. If you go in short tempered you'll probably be miserable. I'm pretty sure the parts in the box didn't match up with the list of parts I was supposed to have, which in turn didn't match up with the parts referenced in the instruction steps. | We received a can of this cleaner (plus 12 cans of the related foam sealant) as part of a kit house. The cleaner is essential to keeping the spray gun for the sealant clean. It works like a champ. Our only complaint was that we needed more cleaner (that's a shame on me thing). We were fortunate to find it on Amazon. |
