| Actually we were really pleased with the Cargo Box. We have a larger Thule so we have one to compare it to. We needed something distinctly smaller that would fit on top of a fully loaded CRV for a 2400 mile trip. No complaints at all.
Some observations: Yes, it seems a little flimsy compared to the "real" Thule boxes but that comes with the price. It's been very durable but a little disconcerting when the suitcases bend the sides over as you take them out. There's never been any damage to the box or ... Read More: |

| Bought this rack for a move across the country from Pennsylvania to Colorado. It got the job done with no issues. Didn't have any weather, so I can't witness to it's water-tighteness, but the way the top fits to the bottom I have little doubt there would be any issues. Wind noise was noticeable and mileage suffered, but I think that has more to do with the 40mph headwind we drove into across all of Kansas. | I have a 2001 Camry, and wasn't able to attach the lower straps below the bumper (as the picture shows). Even with them attached to the trunk, it is very stable. I have no worries attaching my $$$ tri bike and traveling at highway speeds. And as a bonus, I can access the trunk now.
Very simple to assemble; once straps are initially set, it's literally a matter of seconds to remove or reattach. |

| We strapped it according to directions on the top of our car. It rained some and was windy one day, but not downpours. Even though we had everything inside in super strong zip locks--everything (EVERYTHING) got soaked.I know it said it was water resistent (I think that was the word they used) but come on--this was bad!
So I returned the item and Amazon makes it so easy to return. Elaine |

| The 604 Ascent 1600 box was a breeze to install and easy to use. The inner straps are critical to compact soft bags to allow the locking merchanism to engage. Thule should add a small folding step stool to allow ease loading on SUV's! I needed a three step ladder to load in efficiently. The dual-side access feature is perfect. |

| This bag is very large; which is what I wanted. The only drawback is that it does not have any type of frame to keep its shape. I guess you could build a frame out of small diameter PVC pipe but probably not worth it. Overall it seems to be well built. |
