| My father-in-law bought this for my son. He's 2 and we used it this fall for the first time, and caught a largemouth bass! The casting is very easy with a simple push button hold and release. My son couldn't cast it yet, but I could (I'm not a fisherman) and he was able to reel in several fish we caught! He didn't want to touch the fish, but the rod is fantastic. |

| My wife and I use "telescopic rods" for fishing out of our kayaks. This rod collapses to a good managable size, and is only 4'6" extended (perfect for our use). The problem is this item is described as having "stainless steel guides with smooth ceramic inserts"! It absolutely does not have inserts, ceramic or otherwise!! | This rod is great. It is strong enough for a big catfish, yet versatile enough for small bass or trout. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the reel isn't great, but not bad. For the price you can't beat it. |
