| I will just add on to the previous review. I got this game for my 4 year old, but since she has been using the computer since a little under 3 I figured she was ready, and she really does love it. Unlike other similar games it doesn't have a really fast easy ending. Finding all of the supplies by completing all of the sections takes a lot of time. | If you buy the Jumpstart Phonics be sure to get the right version. 1.01 is total junk. Very outdated. Tells you to press the "return key" and use the arrows instead of the mouse. I sat for 20 minutes and did my best to get my 4 year old interested. With all the other software he had he just got totally frustrated as did I!. With all that said I will probably buy the new version which is what I was trying to buy all along! |

| My sister bought this for my daughter when she was 4 and she loved it. A little help was needed at first because she had never used our computer, and the program (especially painting the different parts of words) took some getting acquainted with. After she warmed up to it and understood it, she did it all by herself for months. She knew her alphabet and sounds (and could read a few words) but not all her digraphs when she started, but it didn't take long for her to get the picture and she was independently ... Read More: |

| As other reviewers have stated, it's an excellent interactive learning experience for your child. I give it 4 or 5 stars on that alone. But I was dismayed to find that the setup process stuck an AOL promotion on my desktop (my other Reader Rabbit programs also did it). And of course, the unwelcome desktop icon was just a shortcut; I had to search in the Programs folder for the AOL executable file in order to delete it.

| I absoulutley love Word Munchers. It is the coolest game. The fact you can play with or without troggles knocks me out. I also love how you can play by grade level. I'm in fourth grade, but sometimes I like to play 1st grade to cool off. |

| This program appears to have serious technical problems. It crashes and generates an error when loading, after clicking "run". It is very frustrating for my daughter. |

| This is our favorite game, by far. It has been played far more than Dr. Seuss kindergarten, Reader Rabbit kindergarten and the Tonka games. My son is a very active, adventurous four year old and this game keeps him interested while he learns. Unlike some of the other Reader Rabbit games, this game is more adventure, less knowledge being crammed down the throat, and I think that is why he enjoys it so much.
