| This game is getting a very high rating by reviewers. Problem is, the reviews shown are NOT for this game! Many reviews are talking about teaching typing, coloring dalmations, etc. None of that applies to The Emperor's New Groove. There apparently are other versions of "Activity Centers", and reviews shown are for them.
Emperor's New Groove doesn't run on Windows XP, not even in compatability mode. I downloaded the patch required, and parts run, but not all. And the parts that run ... Read More: |

| We have a Blue's Room (okay)and Blue's Kindergarten (very good), but this one is the best so far. It is absolutely chock full of fun learning games that keep my 3 1/2 year-old happy and interested. It has so many more games than the others, and the difficulty level increases so slightly each time that she barely notices that it's a tiny bit harder. As in all of the children's software titles we have (Blue's Clues, Dora, Reader Rabbit)you don't get mouse control to bypass the intro... so you have to see it ... Read More: |

| The learning company has great software out there, but this certainly is not one of them. There is nothing interactive about this CDRom. It's no more than a read along book. Sometimes you can click on an image and it makes a silly "clown"-esque action that has nothing to do with the book. It looks like the creators started to make a kids software, but ran out of budget/time and are still trying to sell it. | Unlike one other commenter, we've enjoyed this game on three separate Macs. One running Panther (OS X 10.3), one running Tiger (OS X 10.4), and one running Leopard (OS X 10.5). Do not shy away from this game because one commenter couldn't seem to run it!
All three of our kids absolutely love this game! It certainly helped our two oldest learn to read before kindergarten (on their own mostly). Our youngest is now enthralled with the game, so we're hopeful he'll follow in his siblings' footsteps. ... Read More: |

| I do not recommend this software; especially for younger children. Some of the sections are very fast moving and younger children can't click on the moving letters fast enough. Other sections of the software are exceedingly simple and therefore boring to children. A couple of the story games have almost no spanish integrated into them. When the software does use spanish, the word is quickly used once but there is no repetition so if the child misses the word, they're out of luck. |

| This game is very poor compared to Reader Rabbit's Learn to read with Phonics or I can read with Phonics. I already had those two games but I read the following comments and thought I should get this one too. Not so! The games in here are ridiculous, teach very little phonics or reading, are difficult to master, and are all a waste. For those who like curious George, this game hardly ever shows George at all. | I read the reviews that have lower stars and despite agreeing with them there is no denying that my son loves this software. He doesn't mind that he has to learn how to play the games. He loves making the brothers fall into the mud pit. He doesn't care that the quality of the video segments of animals and clips aren't superior. I sit with my child while he's on the computer anyway so helping him through the games is a non-issue. If your child wants to play independently or you use the computer as a babysitter, this game ...
