| I had quit using Norton for the last few of years. I needed a new Internet Security Suite and Norton 2009 was rated at or near the top of all the ratings I checked. Norton did especially well with independent lab tests. (There are so many companies trying to look independent, so it takes some effort to find truly independent tests.)
Norton found a "Trojan" my old Suite did Not find (Kaspersky). It also Scans much faster. |

| I received the Norton 360 around March. It has really messed up my computer. If I leave the firewall on, I can't use my internet. I can't schedule a defrag because Norton won't let me. It is really ridiculous!!
I would not recommend this product to anyone!. |

| Norton antivirus crashed my computer and made e-mail download take too long. So if you consider Norton, I recommend avoiding them. |

| Purchased Norton Ghost to provide a full system backup in the event of a hard drive crash. The installation went smoothly, things worked as advertised, backups have been accomplished but won't know the true picture unless I have a hard disk crash. I am not using this nor did I intend to use it for incremental data backups. |

| I always trust Norton for my anti virus etc.It is easy to download and to set up the firewall. |

| My PC has a 2.2g duel core intel processor with 2g RAM (any of you folks out there who still has less than 1 g of ram, or still using single core, please, stop complaining abt new softwares slowing down your PC and get real!). I was using NIS 2006 previously on this PC. Recently, the subscription for NIS 2006 ran out so I uninstalled it (which went without a glitch!!!! yes, I just used the normal "do it from the control panel method"!). Then I loaded in NIS 2008. | Norton AntiVirus v.11.0 works great for my PPC G5 Mac running 10.4.11. It installed without any issues, and it's cheap insurance considering all the threats on the Internet. I haven't found any viruses yet, but I do transfer files from my Win XP system - there I've found several in the past year. Bottom line - good peace of mind. |
