| Alas many service packs later and bugs ironed out, Microsoft moves on to another money-maker as Windows XP was finally becoming a very reliable operating system. | Had major problems installing this product onto a Vista machine that already had Office2007 installed. Had to spend 2 hours with Microsoft to get it loaded. Then it wouldn't accept my old files from previous Visio. Worked with Microsoft for 6 hours on this one. It turns out that Visio 2007 does NOT follow the file naming convention for Windows Files........ Had to change the names of all my old files before it would accept. |

| I made a sea-change jump from VC++6.0 to Visual Studio 2008. I miss my old ClassWizard, but it only took a day or so to get familiar with the new methods. Probably the hardest thing to get used to is the change from Alt + E + I to launch Find-In-Files to using Ctrl + Shift + F. Even after weeks of using VS2008, I still do the old key combination.
The executables produced are great and the program functions reliably. I would easily buy it again. |

| I have 120 GB Macbook. Got this 32-bit Windows Home Premium DVD and successfully installed it on a 35 GB partition created by Boot Camp. Out of 35 GB, Windows OS took 10.5 GB of disk space. Satisfied! |

| Installation was a problem. I needed to contact Microsoft and they needed to use a Cleanup Utility to uninstall parts of .net so the installation would work.
Windows form applications seem to be about the same. They are pushing a new type of windows application called WPF. The problem with WPF is the toolbox is missing many of the useful controls which exist on the Windows Form Application. WPF forces you to use XAML to code these if you want these controls. | Outlook with Business Contact Manager is a misnomer. BCM is in reality a bolt-on application that works alongside Outlook with a similar file structure. This would be a fine arrangement except that Outlook and BCM do not integrate together. For example, contacts with the same name in both Outlook and BCM are different contacts and do not share information nor do they synchronize in any way. | My workplace just upgraded to 2009 from 2006, and while 2006 was easily the best version of this software I've ever used, the 2009 version is easily the worst and has gone backward in functuality.
For one thing, the program doesn't support Windows 2000, which all of the computers where I am run. I know, they should upgrade to XP, but they won't do that, so I'm stuck using this on a VPN running Server 2003, which is acceptable, though slow.
