| I was still on version 2001 when I received an email notice from quicken saying they were discontinuing support for this version, including the download of quotes to my portfolio.
I was rather upset by that, as Q 2001 worked perfectly for me... and also rather impressed. I will suggest this method to my company, i.e. tell to client they have to upgrade version of our applications, because soon we won't send data any more to old versions... that's a very good business model... for the ... | This program works fine, but customers are made belive that they can run up to 10 stations. In actuallity, only one computer at a time can open the program making it almost worthless. it is true that up to 10 stations at one time can open the program, but it would cost thousands of dollars for licensing each station. I am also wary of five star reviews of any software, especially when information about it is misleading. |

| Everything works great and would recommend quickbooks to any small-medium sized business. HOWEVER, emailing invoices, reports, etc seems to take FOREVER on any PC i have used it on.
Hopefully that is remedied in 2009. Payroll is amazingly easy to use. Automatic updates, etc.. |

| Even though no one is going to be buying this version (2004), I decided to review it anyway (reviewing all items I've ever purchased/used).
Unlike the current version (2007) of TurboTax, this one worked flawlessly. It installed quickly and was not a resource hog. Using it was very easy. Just answered the questions, plugged in the numbers and it did all the work. It was a bit of a pain to manually enter all my stock trades as I was an active trader at the time. | Quickbooks has simplified my business. I worried about being able to keep books for my internet business, but Quickbooks has been fabulous! |

| Robust product with lots of name recognition suggested by my accountant. Unfortunately for a non accountant with a new business, it's also difficult to navigate. I have had friends tell me (after the fact) that there are less complicated programs to use.
My biggest criticisms though are long waits for customer service - over an hour on several occasions to get an additional feature activated, and since my time equates into money I'm not doing so well here - ouch! Speaking of money, another issue is the the ever ... Read More: |

| Forget the free or Shareware products. There are really only 2 Financial programs out there. One is Money, the other is QUICKEN! Both are good, but in my opinion Quicken Deluxe for Windows has it hands down. It does take some getting used to (terminology, etc.) I'm a Mac user, but I have no problem running it with Parallels. Afterthought, I won't even consider upgrading to the Mac version |

| I have been using Quicken since it's early DOS versions. In my humble opinion, there is simply no better way to organize all of your finances. Most banks and credit card companies will allow you to download transactions directly into Quicken (no file download from the institution's web site, and then import into Quicken) -- I'm talking about knowing your recent credit card transactions within a day or two (in case you are not the type to enter them in right when you get home).
