| I have been on a lifelong search through comic stores across the country for Star Trek comic books. Never to purchase, as that would burn a decent hole into my already empty pocket, but simply to glance through the pages and read the stories in a manner so much more different than what I was used to. Comics are fun to read, and they offer a unique vision of a story and its characters. Imagine my surprise when I learned there was a compilation DVD in the works for the Star Trek comic series!

This was an excellent buy! I am thoroughly enjoying this product and would recommend it to any MAD fan! It's good to catch up and to see the old magazines I remember reading as a child. It was fun to go back down memory lane. Thanks MAD! |

| It has all the issues, every page, perfect quality. You cant complain there, the price is low compared to that. Your only problem will be the boring and long beginning issues.
Flaws: ugly interface, for 50 bucks I could definitely have created a more satisfying menu for the costumers the cross overs will be tough to follow, since it's techincaly 40 years of UNCANNY X-men. But whatever. Still they couldve done better. Really, though. SO worth it! |

| I understand that everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but what about common human decency? I'm a fan of morbid humour, but when you are making fun of killing an innocent creature, I think it has gone too far. Would NP have released this cover if the gun were being held to the head of a baby or a racial minority? I'm not talking about politically correct humour. | I grew up with Spiderman....on TV as TV movies and cartoons...but I always thought that there was more to it than that.
Getting this box set makes the world of Spiderman come alive. I completely missed out on the original stories of Gobbie, Doc Oc, Venom, Carnage....all that....but no longer. I like seeing where the world starts and comes all the way through 2006. I also have the Iron Man DVD and will most likely pick up the Incredible Hulk and possibly the Avengers set as well. | The Bad: The scans are of old comic books (not the Marvel original artwork) and they include the staple holes! They also include various graffitti such as ink stamps from a local comic book store - surely a better copy could have been found. A comparison between the first Fantastic 4 comic online at Marvel.com and the same comic on DVD shows that the online version is much more vibrant and colorful. A little more work (such as using photoshop to get rid of those damn staple holes) would have made this collection ... Read More: |

| I had never even heard of this DVD before (or the others in the series) and jumped on it immediately when I saw it on Amazon! I can hardly believe that this product exists! Every issue of Hulk (including Tales to Astonish) from inception to December 2006. Incredible!! (Pun intended) What makes this disc extra great is that each comic is a scan of an original copy, ads, fan letters, everything included. It really is mind blowing. I'd have paid twice the price. I can't even imagine what this collection would cost to own ... Read More: |

| If you're a Ghost Rider fan this is gravy. It's just too bad Marvel doesn't have a contract with this company anymore. I also have the Avengers and Captain America DVD's. It is sort of a pain that they didn't do single page scans, but this is sooo minor when you get nearly every issue on this disc. I say nearly, because it doesn't have current issues. This isn't a dynamic DVD that pulls in new issues after you receive it. An item like that I would give 6 stars to. I also reviewed this item here:

| All in all, any of the GIT corp collections ("the 40 years of" anyways) are well worth the [...] you pay for them. Any complaints about missing crossovers will apply to ANY comic title. Think about the story lines that jump not only around the X-titles but leapt to The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, ect.
I've purchased the 40 years of X-men, Iron Man, Avengers and Spider-Man and love them all. About the only complaint I have is an issue with Adobe having issues with some disc burning software ... Read More: |
