| Anyone who has shopped around for a Digital Asset Management (DAM) System will attest they are often costly to buy, complex to use and require a lot of work getting everything setup. In my opinion Apple has hit a (near) home run with Final Cut Server and the price simply can't be touched by any other vendor .
My company needed a DAM to manage a lot of graphic files for things such as Letterheads, Websites, product brochures, etc. but we also wanted to create a lot of tutorial videos ... Read More: |

| I do only amateur MIDI-based music composition, no audio recording. Thus I can't comment on the latter. For the former, however, Logic Express offers all the tools I need to edit MIDI-events, and access to the tools will feel natural to anyone already comfortable with the Mac-way of doing things. Garageband's capabilities as a MIDI-event editor are rudimentary, where as Logic Express's capabilities are extensive. This was the main reason that I left Garageband and switched to Logic Express.

| I've never lost any files on my computer. I can't remember the last time Tiger crashed on any of my 4 computers. I've never had a virus or spyware. I've never had to reformat my hard drive. No one has ever hacked any of my networked pooters.
A lot of this is because of my computer background. But I rarely need to call on that background. Tiger is fast and I don't have to fuss with it unless I'm bored. |
